Job Description

Qualcomm is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer for its Automotive Perception organization in Linkoping, Sweden. This role involves researching, designing, developing, simulating, and validating systems-level software, hardware, architecture, algorithms, and solutions. The engineer will ensure requirements and designs comply with relevant standards, collaborate with stakeholders on system design, integration, testing, safety, and security, and contribute to process improvements within a cross-functional team.
Good To Have:
  • Knowledge and experience within the field of systems engineering, e.g. requirements management and system architectural design.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and present complex ideas to peers, management, and customers.
  • Good ability to shift between abstraction layers in a system.
  • Experience in software quality and processes.
  • Experience in software engineering (especially embedded software).
  • Good technical leadership, planning and organization/control skills.
  • Good risk management skills, weighing development effort against added value.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in automotive and standards related to automotive (ISO26262 and/or ISO21434).
  • Industry experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Sr. Staff level and above).
Must Have:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, partners, and customers on requirements, system design, architecture, integration, testing, safety, and security compliance.
  • Participate in technical investigations.
  • Enhance effectiveness by improving ways of working and processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree and 5+ years, OR PhD and 4+ years.
  • 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python.

We are seeking additional systems engineering expertise for our Automotive Perception organization to ensure that requirements and designs are methodically described at all applicable levels and comply with relevant standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.

Job Profile Summary (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

  • PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and suitable experience.

In addition, the more of the following that is applicable, the better:
