The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

Lead technical SEO initiatives to identify key search opportunities for cross-functional digital teams, including engineering, design, and product for Sportskeeda and other owned domains
Oversee and manage the implementation of technical SEO projects to enhance search visibility, collaborating closely with engineers and product leads.
Conduct regular technical audits, identifying improvements, bugs, and fixes, and document them in Trello.
Deliver ongoing technical SEO training sessions for product teams and content audiences.
Analyze and benchmark competitors in the news industry, assessing various technical aspects of their sites for insights and strategic inspiration.
Stay informed on Google’s evolving search landscape, keeping up with algorithm updates, new requirements, bugs, and emerging features.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of SEO experience, with a strong focus on technical SEO.
In-depth knowledge of the news industry, with the ability to interpret market changes and adapt strategies accordingly.
Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, balancing SEO impact with user experience and audience growth.
Experience utilizing top industry SEO tools, including Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Botify, and Ahrefs.
Strong understanding of Schema.org, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP status codes, and web standards.
