We are seeking a Connected Hardware Design Senior Engineer to join our Farmington Hills, MI team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and Development: Lead the design and development of telematics control units, ensuring compliance with project timelines and requirements

  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with telematics control unit suppliers to manage development schedules, track progress, and ensure alignment with carline milestones

  • Issue Resolution: Identify, investigate, and resolve issues across departments and global regions, including coordinating with teams in Japan for last-minute and overnight requests

  • Root Cause Analysis: Determine root causes of issues discovered during development and implement short-term and long-term corrective actions

  • Software Management: Manage ticket issues and lead software change reviews with suppliers and counterparts in Japan

  • Cross-Functional Support: Support internal cross-functional teams for various connected car design-related requests, including End-to-end testing and software judgment meetings

  • Quality Monitoring: Monitor and improve the quality of telematics components in production, providing expert support for resolving critical and complex issues

  • Cost Optimization: Track costs and develop value-optimized designs to ensure cost-effective solutions

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical mindset, able to present ideas and analysis effectively. Proficiency in developing presentation decks in Microsoft PowerPoint is required

  • Proficiency in Excel-based data analysis is required

  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to organize complex and multi-faceted projects efficiently are required

  • Dedication to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers

  • Ability to understand the complexities of situations and solicit assistance from others as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Five or more years of directly related professional-level Engineering experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related engineering discipline

Physical Requirements:

Travel:

  • Up to 10-20% travel, both domestic and international, may be required.

Overtime:

  • Willingness to work overtime as necessary to complete the job.
