We are seeking an experienced Traveling Coastal Engineer to take a lead role in delivering innovative, resilient, and sustainable coastal infrastructure projects throughout the Caribbean. Based in the U.S., you will travel frequently to client sites in the Carribean to oversee design, construction, and implementation, serving as the primary on-the-ground leader for projects that directly protect communities, ecosystems, and economies.
Good To Have:
  • Master’s degree in Coastal, Civil, Ocean or Environmental Engineering.
Must Have:
  • Lead delivery of coastal engineering projects across multiple Caribbean islands, from concept to construction.
  • Travel extensively (up to 75%) to provide on-site technical leadership and project management.
  • Conduct coastal process assessments, shoreline management studies, and risk evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, government stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Provide mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to advancing best practices in coastal resilience.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and environmental standards are consistently met.
  • Degree in Coastal, Civil, Ocean or Environmental Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation in Canada, or ability to obtain.
  • 8+ years of progressive coastal engineering experience, including fieldwork and project management.
  • Strong background in coastal processes, modeling, shoreline protection, ports, or related marine infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects internationally and adapt to different regional contexts.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to travel extensively across the Caribbean.
