About the role

The primary role of the 3D generalist is to ensure all 3D elements of the production are completed within the predesignated deadlines with care and consideration while maintaining the required style and quality of animation.

Skills & Other Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a clear understanding of 3D modelling, 3D animation and basic 3D rigging specifically in Blender.
• In-depth understanding of animation pipelines and how 3D assets fit into 2D animation pipelines.
• Responsible for all 3D tasks necessary for the production. This can include, but is not limited to problem problem-solving.
• Collaborate with the Director, technical director, pipeline and other 3D generalists to plan and establish methodologies that meet or exceed the requirements of each production.
• Provide regular updates, reports and/or reviews as required.
• Attending creative, production and management meetings when required.
• Prep for and manage episodes as directed by supervisor.
• Ensure that your work is completed on time, within a rigorous production schedule with shifting daily deadlines.
• As part of your continuous development, you are expected to keep up to date with the latest initiatives and developments in your area of expertise for the role, such as (but not limited to) training, learning and development initiatives, and mentoring.
• Any other duties company management may from time to time deem necessary and reasonably require.

What would we look for?

• Clear understanding of the programmes Blender and Toon Boom Harmony, which allows you to support the overall needs of the production pipeline and toolsets.
• Knowledge of and experience in compositing would be a plus.
• Strong 3D technical knowledge.
• Ability to communicate in a professional and positive manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to work as part of a team.
• Be self-motivated – able to work effectively in demanding circumstances.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
