Job Description

Mercury is seeking a driven Account Executive to expand its customer base into new segments like eCommerce and Marketing Agencies. The role involves understanding founders' and business owners' operational needs, guiding them to the right financial tools, and building strong client relationships. Responsibilities include managing the end-to-end sales process, building an outbound pipeline with SDRs, identifying new lead sources, and converting signups into long-term customers. The role requires collaboration with Relationship Management and Partnerships teams, and translating customer feedback for product development.

At Mercury, building our customer base has been a wild and exciting adventure—and we’re just getting started. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a thoughtful, driven Account Executive to help more founders and business owners discover and thrive with Mercury.

Over the past two years, we've significantly expanded our startup customer base. Now, we’re growing into new segments: eCommerce and New Verticals like Marketing Agencies, Consulting, Staffing, and more. Each of these industries has unique financial needs—and Mercury is uniquely built to serve them all.

 

As an Account Executive, you’ll work directly with founders, business owners, and finance teams to deeply understand their operational needs and guide them to the right financial tools. You’ll immerse yourself in their ecosystems and uncover pain points to help them build great businesses with Mercury.

 

Here are some things you'll do on the job:

  • Own the end-to-end sales process—from initial outreach to close
  • Partner with our robust SDR team to build and nurture a strong outbound pipeline
  • Proactively identify new lead sources and learn about potential customers
  • Convert signups into enthusiastic, long-term Mercury champions
  • Manage a high volume of high-velocity sales cycles using internal tools
  • Collaborate with our Relationship Management team to onboard complex customers
  • Work cross-functionally with the Partnerships team to unlock new acquisition channels
  • Translate customer feedback into insights that inform product development

What We're Looking For:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of closing experience in a sales or account executive role
  • Confidence in building and managing a high-quality pipeline

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity, and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

  • US employees in New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $134,600 - $168,200
  • US employees outside of New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, or the San Francisco Bay Area: $121,100 - $151,400
  • Canadian employees (any location): 127,100 - 158,900 CAD
