Internship is for 6 months and 20-30 hour per week, with 2 days in office (Preferably Tues/Thurs)
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Intern (AI) to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and general accounting. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and a passion for learning.
The AI will report to the Associate Director, Internal Control (ADIC), who reports to the Sr Vice President, Corporate Finance. The AI will work cross-departmentally with the ADIC and Senior Director, Accounting (SDA) to undertake various accounting functions and projects.
This internship is open to students actively in school and will be a part-time opportunity for accounting students to get on-hands experience to supplement their education.
Primary Duties
1. Assist with daily accounting tasks, such as data entry, account/vendor reconciliations, and journal entries.
2. Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes processes, as needed.
3. Assist with data preparation for external and internal audits.
4. Learn and apply accounting principles and standards.
5. Support other Accounting/Finance team members as needed.
6. Other projects as assigned by the ADIC or SDA
Minimum Qualifications:
This is a hybrid internship that requires candidates to be located in Utah and to be able to commute at least 50% of the time to the office in Salt Lake City, Utah. The first 2 to 4 weeks will be primarily in-office for training.
