Job Summary

Agoda is seeking an Accounting Manager to handle full sets of accounts across multiple countries within a multinational corporation. This role involves working with external agencies, auditors, and other Group brands on projects and reporting. The manager will oversee daily accounting operations, ensure compliance with corporate policies and SOX requirements, review financial accounts and reconciliations, and provide accurate tax information. The position also includes managing new projects, improving processes, and troubleshooting, offering a chance to learn about Agoda's products and workflows.

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 9+ years of working experience in Accounting
  • Experience in project management
  • Good command of both spoken and written English
  • Familiar with local/US GAAP and knowledge & compliance in financial & accounting management and internal control
  • Prepare complete details and accurate accounts for all entities including a group consolidation
  • Report accurate, timely and insightful monthly management accounts and financial updates for management review
  • Manage and liaise with auditors, IT review and tax computation processes from planning to filing
  • Ensure accounting, associated IT systems and internal control environment are in compliance with Corporate policy as well as SOX requirements
  • Review reconciliations of all significant account balances including bank accounts and fixed assets, debtors and creditors
  • Understand key concepts of tax returns in foreign jurisdictions where the company has legal presence
  • Manage and implement Company’s initiatives and projects from finance and accounting perspective
  • Identify and drive process and technology improvement opportunities

The Opportunity:

The accounting manager will have the opportunity to work in a multinational corporation, handling the full set of accounts in several countries. You will work with accounting and tax agencies, auditors and other external advisors. You will also have a chance to coordinate with our other Group brands on projects and group reporting. This role will also be involved on new projects/initiatives, supervisory of post-go-live processes/workflow of those projects/initiatives, and process improvements. You will get chances to learn about our products, businesses, workflows and be a part that makes things happen.

In this Role, you'll get to:

Financial Accounts

  • Prepare complete details and accurate accounts for all entities including a group consolidation
  • Report accurate, timely and insightful monthly management accounts and financial updates for management review
  • Motivate management accounting/nominal ledger team to take further responsibility for accounts input and preparation processes, and ensure career development in a supportive manner
  • Manage and liaise with auditors, IT review and tax computation processes from planning to filing in an efficient and effective manner
  • Collaborates with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives
  • Advises staff regarding the handling of non-routine reporting transactions
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department

Accounting Controls

  • Ensure accounting, associated IT systems and internal control environment are in compliance with Corporate policy as well as SOX requirements etc.
  • Responsible for review of journal entries
  • Review reconciliations of all significant account balances including bank accounts and fixed assets, debtors and creditors, and report significant exceptions to management
  • Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy, applying observations and recommendations to operational issues

Tax

  • Understand key concepts of tax returns (i.e. corporate income tax, withholding tax and indirect taxes) in foreign jurisdictions where the company has legal presence
  • Provide tax team with accurate information for the purpose of tax compliance in local and foreign jurisdictions

Projects

  • Manage and implement Company’s initiatives and projects from finance and accounting perspective. This includes providing requirements, designing and performing UAT, designing new workflow, monitoring post-go-live processes, and troubleshooting
  • Identify and drive process and technology improvement opportunities

What you'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 9+ years of working experience in Accounting
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
  • Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box
  • Dynamic and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Energetic, initiative with good communication skills
  • Experience in project management
  • Good command of both spoken and written English
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills
  • Skilled in presentation composition, communications technology including PowerPoint, and engaging, articulate audience presentations.
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Familiar with local/US GAAP and knowledge & compliance in financial & accounting management and internal control
