Job Description

As an AML Compliance Analyst at eBay, you will join the Payments Compliance Operations team, supporting the ongoing maintenance and development of eBay's AML/KYC program. This role involves performing in-depth Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews to assess risk, analyzing financial transaction activity, and detailing findings. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure site safety and compliance, engaging with employees at all levels through various communication channels.
Must have:
  • Conduct in-depth case reviews to promote safe and compliant trading.
  • Use score thresholds and multiple data sources to make informed decisions.
  • Identify and document trends and provide feedback to Leadership and Policy teams.
  • Provide feedback on rule performance.
  • Present case decisions including end to end Customer experience to Leadership.
  • Ability to work independently with direction from leadership while maintaining quality standards.
  • Resolve eBay member account issues including reviewing appropriate documentation and ensuring compliance requirements are met.
  • Update and review forms according to local regulation requirements.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure information is received by due date.
  • Ensure all tasks are executed in compliance with our policies and regulations.
  • Manage your time so work is completed efficiently and actively driving impact to process and tools.
  • Able to capture data using internal and external tools then interpret to assess risk.
  • Business minded, able to see trends, opportunities, and multitask.

This position will require the candidate to function as a Compliance Analyst supporting other team members and managing extensive research. Role Summary

Perform in-depth account Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews to assess the risk to eBay and our brand. Have an awareness of regulatory requirements in AML/Know Your Customer (KYC) and other compliance due diligence functions. Reviews include external and internal business issues, root cause analysis, analyzing financial transaction activity and thoroughly detailing the findings to include all pertinent facts, information, and findings. Prepare detailed written analyses for all assigned Customers. This cross-functional team collaborates with multiple departments and business units to support the safety of the site. You will work with all levels of employees throughout the business and will need to be comfortable and confident in engaging in person, phone, and through written communication.

You will:

  • Conduct in-depth case reviews to promote safe and compliant trading on the site
  • Use score thresholds and multiple data sources to make informed decisions on each case
  • Identify and document trends then provide feedback to your Leadership and Policy teams
  • Provide feedback on rule performance to your Leadership and Policy teams
  • Present case decisions including end to end Customer experience to Leadership
  • Ability to work independently with direction from leadership while maintaining quality standards
  • Resolve eBay member account issues including reviewing appropriate documentation and ensuring compliance requirements are met
  • Update and review forms according to local regulation requirements and work with Compliance Operations to expedite documentation reviews, providing clarification as needed
  • Follow up with customers to ensure information is received by due date
  • Ensure all tasks are executed in compliance with our policies and regulations

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:

$58,700 - $66,800

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
