Job Description

The Analog Layout Engineer will join the Analog Layout team, focusing on custom analog designs using leading-edge technologies. Responsibilities include independent layout delivery from floor planning to verification (DRC, ERC, LVS), conducting reviews, managing schedules, and ensuring layout quality. The role requires close collaboration with circuit designers and other layout engineers to achieve high-quality designs.

  • SKILL scripting capability to improve efficiency

Must Have:
  • Deliver layout independently from floor planning to fully verified, post-extracted layout (DRC, ERC, and LVS)
  • Conduct reviews for floor planning and final layout delivery
  • Manage work progress to deliver per schedule
  • Ensure quality and integrity of layout to meet design specifications
  • Focus on teamwork to achieve team goals
  • Full understanding of analog layout fundamentals, electromigration, IR drop, parasitics, LDEs, and ESD
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Unix and CAD environments
  • High proficiency in interpreting and debugging Calibre results

The team is searching for a self-motivating engineer for the role of Analog Layout Engineer. As a member of the Analog Layout team, you will be working on the leading-edge technologies to build best-in-class custom analog designs. As a member of the Analog Layout team, you will construct layout for a wide variety of designs, in a wide variety of technologies. You will need to work closely with circuit designers as well as other layout designers to ensure you deliver the highest quality layout achievable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver layout independently starting with initial floor planning and ending with fully verified, post-extracted layout (DRC, ERC, and LVS).
  • Conduct reviews for floor planning and final layout delivery.

  • Ensure quality and integrity of layout to meet design specifications.

Key Qualifications

  • BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience.
  • Full understanding of analog layout fundamentals, electromigration, IR drop, parasitics, LDEs, and ESD.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Unix and CAD environments.
  • High proficiency in interpreting and debugging Calibre results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring junior layout engineers.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
