Job Description

As a Financial Analyst in Finance Systems, you will be the data administrator for multiple systems and the liaison between various departments at Sony Pictures Television, including TV Production Accounting, Production, Production IT Services, and external 3rd party data system vendors. You will be involved in onboarding/offboarding TV Production Accounting/Finance personnel, overseeing account setup, managing vendor products, and functioning as a line of business product owner. Responsibilities include coordinating user setup, monitoring and tracking rights, contributing to workflow implementation, leveraging data for decision-making, interfacing with vendors, collaborating on production setup requests, preparing ad-hoc analysis and reporting, and providing audit support. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills.
Good To Have:
  • Experience in entertainment industry production, production accounting, or network audit.
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems; SAP knowledge is helpful.
  • Experience with EP systems such as Smart Accounting, Scenechronize, Smart Start, Smart Time, Smart PO is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Airtable.
  • Excel skills.
Must Have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Computer Science preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in accounting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow through on projects independently and bring them to timely completion.
  • Quick grasp of new concepts and adept problem-solving skills.

As a Financial Analyst in Finance Systems, you will serve as the data administrator for multiple systems, acting as the liaison between various departments at Sony Pictures Television, including TV Production Accounting, Production, Production IT Services, and external 3rd party data system vendors.

The Financial Analyst will play a pivotal role in onboarding/offboarding TV Production Accounting/Finance personnel, overseeing account setup, managing vendor products, and functioning as a line of business product owner.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Onboarding of Production Accounting Personnel:

  • Coordinate user setup across multiple systems, working closely with the production team, and ensuring documentation for audits.

Rights Tracking:

  • Monitor and track rights of production accounting users across various internal/external systems.

Workflow Implementation:

  • Contribute to the implementation of workflow tools to streamline departmental processes.

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Leverage data to inform decision-making and strategic planning for systems, accountant personnel, and other initiatives.

Vendor Interface:

  • Interface with 3rd party vendors, ensuring SOX compliance and controls in the utilization of their applications.

Production Setup Requests:

  • Collaborate on production setup requests with various vendors, ensuring proper accounting and finance setup.

Audit Support:

  • Provide supporting documentation for audits and contribute to a smooth audit process.

Ad-Hoc Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting to meet evolving departmental needs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Computer Science preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in public and/or private accounting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Preferred experience in entertainment industry production, production accounting or network audit.
  • Fundamental understanding of computer systems; SAP knowledge is helpful.
  • Experience with EP systems such as Smart Accounting, Scenechronize, Smart Start, Smart Time, Smart PO is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Airtable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, analytical, and Excel skills.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $73,600-$92,000. This role may also qualify for annual incentive and/or comprehensive benefits. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location of the position.
