Job Description

As an Analytic Science Intern, you will be an integral part of a team of data scientists building predictive machine learning models, analyzing and validating production model behavior, and ensuring optimal model performance. This role involves building or evaluating machine learning models for financial crime prevention and credit lifecycle management, analyzing large historical data, data cleaning, feature generation, devising sampling schemes, and experimenting with different model architectures. You will apply machine learning and statistical methodologies to analyze model behavior and collaborate with FICO teams for integration and deployment.
Good To Have:
  • Experience analyzing large datasets and applying data-cleaning techniques along with performing statistical analyses leading to the understanding of the structure of datasets.
Must Have:
  • Build or evaluate machine learning models in the domain of financial crime prevention and credit lifecycle management.
  • Apply machine learning and statistical methodologies to achieve a thorough analysis of model behavior.
  • Work under time and resource constraints and collaborate with others within FICO to enable integration and deployment of analytic software and solutions.
  • Current BS degree students planning to work toward MS or existing MS/PhD degree students in statistics, engineering, mathematics, computer science, physics or operations research field.
  • Some related experience (school or industry) in machine learning and data mining.
  • Excellent time management, communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with Unix operating system, and programming languages such as Python, Java, C, or C++.
  • Familiarity with basic software design principles and coding standards and best practices.
  • Knowledge of one or more algorithms and concepts such as Bayesian networks, PCA, linear and logistic regressions, inference, estimation, experimental design, neural networks, deep learning, generative AI, transformer technology, and contrastive machine learning, synthetic data generation.

What You’ll Contribute

  • Build or evaluate machine learning models in the domain of financial crime prevention and credit lifecycle management. This may include analysis of large amounts of historical data, determining suitability for modeling, data cleaning and filtering, pattern identification, feature generation, devising sampling schemes, generating performance definitions, performing experiments with different types of model architectures, and analyzing performance to identify the best architectures to employ. Project area to be determined closer to start of internship and dependent on business needs at that time
  • Apply machine learning and statistical methodologies to achieve a thorough analysis of model behavior.
  • Work under time and resource constraints and collaborate with others within FICO to enable integration and deployment of analytic software and solutions.

What We’re Seeking
