Job Description

The Application Engineer will be responsible for optimizing product design through value analysis and engineering, leading the development of automotive wiring harness systems using CAD tools like CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks. Key tasks include managing design changes, generating engineering drawings, participating in all product development phases, and utilizing PLM software for data management and Bill of Materials (BOM) coordination.
Must have:
  • Conduct value analysis and value engineering activities.
  • Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications.
  • Utilize CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to create detailed wiring harness designs.
  • Manage design changes throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics, and charts.
  • Participate in all phases of product development.
  • Utilize PLM software to manage product data, documentation, and revisions.
  • Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate changes to the BOM and communicate updates to relevant teams and suppliers.

Job Details

Major Accountabilities:

1. Conduct value analysis and value engineering activities to optimize product design, improve functionality, and reduce costs.

2. Lead and contribute to the design and development of wiring harness systems for automotive applications.

3. Utilize CAD tools such as CATIA, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks to create detailed wiring harness designs.

4. Manage design changes throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to change control processes and procedures.

5. Generate and release engineering drawings, schematics, and charts in accordance with internal standards and industry regulations.

6. Participate in all phases of product development, including concept design, prototyping, testing, and validation.

7. Utilize PLM software to manage product data, documentation, and revisions throughout the product lifecycle.

8. Manage the Bill of Materials (BOM) for assigned projects, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering specifications.

9. Coordinate changes to the BOM and communicate updates to relevant teams and suppliers.
