Job Description

The Asset Technical Assistant (TA) supports the production by providing daily technical assistance to the Assets team, under the guidance of the Supervisors and Production. This role ensures the smooth technical functioning of the asset pipeline and assists in maintaining asset quality and consistency across the project. Key responsibilities include providing daily technical support, maintaining the Asset library, resolving bug reports, performing quality control, and collaborating with crew members to meet production deadlines.
Must have:
  • Provide daily technical support to the Assets team
  • Maintain and update the Asset library
  • Review and resolve bug reports and technical issues
  • Perform quality control on assets prior to downstream delivery
  • Build strong working relationships with key crew members and production
  • Take direction from Supervisors and proactively seek guidance when needed
  • Remain adaptable, flexible, and responsive to evolving production needs
  • Complete tasks in line with production deadlines

Job Details

Flying Bark Productions is a dynamic and innovative animation studio dedicated to pushing the boundaries of character animation and storytelling. We are working on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Ghostbusters animated series and Stranger Things animated series, as well as our production Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan.

About the role:

  • Provide daily technical support to the Assets team
  • Maintain and update the Asset library
  • Review and resolve bug reports and technical issues
  • Perform quality control on assets prior to downstream delivery
  • Build strong working relationships with key crew members and production
  • Take direction from Supervisors and proactively seek guidance when needed
  • Remain adaptable, flexible, and responsive to evolving production needs
  • Complete tasks in line with production deadlines.

About you:

  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Maya, and software such as Substance Painter
  • Basic understanding of Nuke and Katana within a production-based environment.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines consistently
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Open to feedback and adaptable to change
  • Experience with Python scripting (preferred but not essential)
  • Passionate about animation and storytelling.
