Job Description

Aptiv is seeking an Assoc Customs Admin for its Mexico Tech Center. This full-time role requires over a year of experience in customs, a technical degree in foreign trade, and basic Microsoft Office skills. The successful candidate will manage export and intra-Mexico documentation, generate customs declarations, and provide support for various customs operations. Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills are essential, along with a commitment to continuous learning and adherence to customs processes. The role involves attention to detail, problem-solving, and participation in internal audits.
Must Have:
  • Manage operations documentation (Export, IntraMex)
  • Handle North Border Export Transactions
  • Understand intra-Mexico export invoicing process
  • Generate Transfer Notices
  • Generate customs declarations, customs proformas (DODA, PITA), and files for Carta Porte
  • Consult Customs EOS processes and avoid unilateral decisions
  • Engage in constant learning within the area
  • Participate sporadically in Internal Audit processes like File Control
  • Attend to Exports from assigned plants and/or sites
  • Support and follow up on tasks from the previous customs shift
  • Attend to operations of assigned plants and/or sites (Border or Interior)
  • Report and notify import-export red flags
  • Follow up on dead files
  • Provide support and attention to any area and/or service contingencies
  • Perform any other work activity related to the position or required by immediate supervisor

Required Competencies/Skills:

  • >1 year of Experience in the Customs Area
  • Availability for shift B
  • Technical Degree in Foreign Trade or related fields
  • Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Analytical and reasoning skills to escalate to supervisor. Does not make unilateral decisions and learns to consult Customs EOS processes
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Teamwork skills
  • System knowledge:
  • "Tade and Tax Solution" (2TS) database
  • SOIA – Mexican Government System
  • American Customs Agent System (US Entry)
  • Group email monitoring
  • Proficiency in documenting Land Export Operations
  • Sporadic participation in Internal Audit processes such as File Control
  • Knowledge of intra-Mexico export invoicing process

General Functions:
