Associate, Data & Analytics

ShopMy is seeking a Data Analyst to join its growing data team, focusing on critical thinking and driving decisions through data. The role involves transforming questions into metrics, insights, and actionable stories, with a strong emphasis on building clear, intuitive, and impactful dashboards. The ideal candidate is comfortable with SQL and business intelligence tools, motivated to improve systems, and eager to shape ShopMy's data usage, continuously learning and solving problems.

Must Have

• 1-2 years of experience in data analysis or related field
• Working knowledge of SQL (joins, derived fields, debugging basics)
• Experience with business intelligence tools (Looker preferred)
• Strong skills in data visualization and storytelling through dashboards
• Comfortable with basic scripting (Python, R, or JavaScript) or motivated to learn
• Attention to detail, curiosity, and persistence in solving problems
• Strong communicator who can translate between technical data and business needs
• Be the go-to person for Looker, shaping content and supporting stakeholders
• Build, maintain, and refine dashboards, metrics, and analyses
• Partner with teams to translate business needs into data-driven insights
• Help define and document key metrics for a consistent data layer
• Debug and troubleshoot data issues, flagging inconsistencies
• Collaborate with senior data team members to improve models and Looker structure
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and uncover insights
• Contribute to creating a culture of data fluency throughout ShopMy

We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join ShopMy’s growing data team. You’re more than someone who just pulls numbers — you think critically about what they mean and how they can drive better decisions.

You know how to turn questions into metrics, metrics into insights, and insights into stories that drive action and outcomes. You take pride in building dashboards and visualizations that are clear, intuitive, and impactful. You know how to build tools that help teams understand what’s happening and why.

You’re comfortable in SQL and business intelligence tools, motivated to improve systems, and excited to help shape how ShopMy uses data day-to-day. You’re energized by solving problems and motivated to continuously learn, experiment, and take on bigger challenges over time.

What You’ll Do

• Be the go-to person for Looker — shaping content, supporting stakeholders, and ensuring teams can easily access and trust data
• Build, maintain, and refine dashboards, metrics, and analyses that drive understanding and adoption across the business
• Partner with teams across ShopMy to translate business needs into clear, data-driven insights
• Help define and document key metrics, supporting a consistent and trusted data layer
• Debug and troubleshoot data issues, flagging inconsistencies and contributing to improvements in data quality
• Collaborate with senior data team members to improve models, joins, and the overall Looker structure
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and uncover insights that save time or drive performance
• Contribute to creating a culture of data fluency and adoption throughout ShopMy

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in data analysis or a related field
• Working knowledge of SQL (joins, derived fields, debugging basics)
• Experience with business intelligence tools (Looker preferred; Tableau, Power BI, or similar also great)
• Strong skills in data visualization and storytelling through dashboards
• Comfortable with basic scripting (Python, R, or JavaScript) or motivated to learn
• Attention to detail, curiosity, and persistence in solving problems
• Strong communicator who can “translate” between technical data and business needs
• Excited by the opportunity to be an early member of ShopMy’s data team and grow as the function scales

The provided salary range is base salary, exclusive of bonus potential or commission and is a good faith estimate of cash compensation. ShopMy is flexible pending candidate's experience and how our business needs evolve throughout the search. Every employee of ShopMy receives equity on top of cash compensation!
