Job Summary

The Indicator Research Team at Sustainalytics, a Morningstar company, focuses on management indicator research for ESG and sustainability products, forming the basis of company-level ESG Risk Rating reports. Must Have

  • Build and lead a team of analysts by providing clear direction, establishing SMART goals, and optimizing resource allocation.
  • Take point with the team on their questions, feedback, and concerns.
  • Identify areas for improvement across the team and proactively take steps to improve by arranging individual and group training sessions.
  • Develop expertise in research methodologies and translate that into research requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on KPIs.
  • Manage the performance review process for the team alongside talent development and talent management.
  • An undergraduate degree.
  • Over 5 years of experience in secondary research or data operations.
  • Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple workflows within a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite, particularly MS Excel.
  • Client-oriented, innovative, and entrepreneurial mindset.

Good to Have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Progress towards Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA), Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) and Certificate in ESG Investing.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.

Business Unit:

Sustainalytics, a Morningstar company, provides high-quality, analytical environmental, social and governance (ESG) research, ratings and data to institutional investors and companies that help them identify, understand and manage ESG-driven risks and opportunities. Our mission is to provide the insights required to make more informed decisions that lead to a more just and sustainable global economy.

Team:

Indicators speak to the way corporates manage its material ESG risks and forms the basis of the company-level ESG Risk Rating reports that Sustainalytics publishes. The Indicator Research Team work closely with existing ESG Risk Rating teams in other locations to deliver research for Sustainalytics’ suite of ESG products to clients, notably our flagship ESG Risk Rating.

Role:

The role manages research activities for a set of analysts conducting management indicator research for ESG and sustainability products. The position will oversee the output and quality of the research performed by the team. The ideal candidate would communicate clearly, form strong relationships with stakeholders, proactively identify and manage risks while improving the group’s performance, productivity, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • An undergraduate degree. Master’s degree a plus.
  • Over 5 years of experience in secondary research or data operations.
  • Any progress towards Fundamentals of Sustainability Accounting (FSA), Sustainability and Climate Risk (SCR) and Certificate in ESG Investing a plus.
  • Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple workflows within a dynamic work environment
