Job Summary
House of How Games is seeking an Associate Producer to join their game development team. This role involves organizing, coordinating, sprint planning, and tracking work for game development, managing development systems, and driving quality experiences. The Associate Producer will work on a new internally developed AAA title and a generative AI tooling project, collaborating with leads, managing tasks, leading meetings, and communicating project status. This is a 6-month contract position with potential for full-time employment.
Must Have
- Collaborate with leads to understand high-level architecture and approach
- Play builds, create, organize, and relay feedback for the team
- Manage planning, scheduling, assigning, and daily tracking of tasks and dependencies
- Lead sprint planning and tracking with accurate time estimates and velocity
- Coordinate and lead meetings, record notes, delegate, and follow up on action items
- Regularly communicate project status, escalating issues proactively
- Identify and propose solutions to bottlenecks and inefficiencies
- Document development processes, design decisions, and improve organization
- 3+ years experience in game development as a game producer
- Shipped at least one full AA/AAA game as a producer
- Proficient with standard project management development tools and methods
- Exceptional knowledge of ADO, Trello, Jira, or other task tracking systems
- Hyper-organized, with a love to organize and clean up databases and documentation
- Solid understanding of overall game development processes and relevant disciplines
- Experience and comfort with detailed and accurate project planning
- Deep familiarity with sprint planning and burnup and burndown charts
- Proficiency in source control systems such as Perforce or Git
- Written and spoken English fluency
- Ability to work during the Western US (Pacific) Timezone

- Additional training in related disciplines (e.g., Art, Audio, Design, Programming)
- Game development experience in Unreal or other engines
- Shipped a game on consoles

Job Description
We are seeking an Associate Producer to join a team of developers in organizing, coordinating, sprint planning, and tracking work for our game development process. You will manage and organize our development systems and daily work strategy to help drive quality experiences that make our games great!
You should have a broad knowledge of game production practices and tools, a keen ability to create and track estimates, a fine attention to detail, and a good ability to juggle and communicate daily knowledge of the game’s development progress.
As a producer, you should also have a track record of coordinating with other disciplines and managing deliverables in coordination with multiple people on your team, creating and following processes and an environment that sets the project up for success.
Project Details
You will join us as a producer on both a new internally developed AAA title and a cutting-edge tooling project involving generative AI that will supercharge game development.
You’ll serve as the right-hand person to our Executive Producer, who has over 30 years of production experience and has shipped over 20 AAA game titles, including Medal of Honor, Back 4 Blood, and Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Our art team has experience with a wide variety of AAA game franchises, including Borderlands, Halo, Doom, and Dead Space.
This is a 6-month contract position with potential for full-time employment based on the success of the prototype.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leads to understand high-level architecture and approach.
- Play the builds, create, organize, and relay feedback for the team, and confirm execution on feedback and specs.
- Manage the planning, scheduling, assigning, and daily tracking of tasks and dependencies.
- Lead sprint planning and tracking, with accurate time estimates and velocity tracking.
- Coordinate and lead meetings for all disciplines, recording accurate and pertinent notes, and delegating and following up on action items.
- Regularly communicate project status upwards and to the team, escalating issues before they become problems.
- Identify and propose solutions to bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the studio.
- Help the EP and other company leads with occasional help on side tasks.
- Document development processes, design decisions, and improve our documentation and general file organization.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience in game development as a game producer or equivalent, in collaboration with other technical and non-technical disciplines.
- Shipped at least one full AA/AAA game as a producer.
- Proficient with standard project management development tools and methods.
- Exceptional knowledge of ADO, Trello, Jira, or other task tracking systems.
- Hyper-organized, with an innate love to organize, categorize, and clean up databases, file structures, and documentation.
- Solid understanding of overall game development processes and at least a surface-level understanding of relevant disciplines, including game engineering, art, and audio.
- Experience and comfort with detailed and accurate project planning.
- Deep familiarity with sprint planning and burnup and burndown charts.
- Proficiency in source control systems such as Perforce or Git.
- Written and spoken English fluency.
- Ability to work during the Western US (Pacific) Timezone
Bonus Qualifications
- A portfolio of games you’ve worked on.
- Additional training in one or more additional related disciplines (e.g., Art, Audio, Design, Programming, etc).

The base pay ranges for this role in Washington state and California, enumerated by rank, are as follows:
Washington & California State Pay Range
Junior Producer: $35,000—$50,000 USD
Associate Producer: $40,000—$70,000 USD
Producer: $60,000—$90,000 USD
These ranges are determined by a multiplicity of competing factors, including work experience, transferable skills, training, business needs, and market demands. In other locations, these pay ranges may be adjusted, and they are subject to change.
