Job Description

The Associate Product Manager will support Product Managers in a user-focused and data-informed team. They will be responsible for implementing product improvements across the user journey, from conception to launch. This involves creating user experiences to drive engagement and growth. They will work with stakeholders, conduct user research, and develop a long-term strategy to drive growth, defining metrics and features needed. The role includes assisting with the definition and management of the student recruitment journey, defining product strategy, and working with development and UX teams. It also involves defining features, managing a product backlog, and reporting on key metrics.
Must have:

  • Experience working on digital products using agile methodologies.
  • Experience leading on user research and experimentation techniques including AB testing.

  • Technical understanding.
  • Experience working in a B2C environment.
  • Experience working with development and design teams.
  • SEO experience.
  • Understanding of Core Web Vitals and their impact on site performance.
  • Experience working on digital products with large data sets.
  • Experience using data and analytics tools including: MixPanel, GA, Tableau, Looker.

As an Associate Product Manager, this is what you’ll be doing:



We are looking for someone who wants to start their product career in a user-focused, data-informed team. The Associate Product Manager will support Product Managers in the Product team to align and drive product improvements across the user journey, working on ideas from conception through to launch. You will be user-focused who takes ownership for creating fantastic user experiences that drive engagement, conversion and grow our position as the authoritative voice in the market. You will love experimenting with new ideas and hypotheses, using data to make informed decisions whilst being comfortable with uncertainty and not afraid to fail and learn. You will work with a variety of stakeholders including development teams, designers, content and social teams, from across QS as well as undertaking user research and product analysis to development a longer-term strategy to drive growth, defining the metrics to measure success, experiments and features needed to achieve this. You’ll be passionate about solving customer problems and building products that users want to use again and again. You will be skilled at using that passion to create cohesive product strategy that will help the business achieve its goals and drive future growth. You’ll be at the heart of our market expansion plans, working with teams across the organisation to bring your strategy to life and make a real impact on users.


Role responsibilities: 



  • Assist with the definition and management of our student recruitment journey, using

        quantitative and qualitative data and information to enable our users to achieve their                   goals, and for us to achieve our business goals.

  • Assist with the definition of the product strategy, working with Product Managers.
  • Working with development and UX teams to ensure development and delivery of user

         value.

  • Help to define features and user stories, manage and prioritise a product backlog.
  • Help to define key metrics to measure success and report on these to a variety of

         stakeholders.

  • Use experimentation to test ideas and hypotheses quickly to determine the best solution

         and trade-offs.

  • Develop intelligence on the market and competition to shape our product decisions.
  • Communicate and collaborate with colleagues on launches and the roll out of new

         functionality.

  • Help assess SEO improvements and assist with their implementation
  • Work with Product Managers to assess performance of changes and manage

         improvements.

  • Work with stakeholders to understand their data needs to feed back to PMs and / or Data

         Analyst team, creating ad hoc reports to test requirements.

  • Any other duties that fall within the scope and purpose of the role.



Key skills and experience:



  • Comfortable in complex situations, working with ambiguity and solving difficult problems.           
  • Have a strong sense of accountability and ownership, with a willingness to take responsibility for the success of the product and its features.
  • Have excellent communication skills and can adapt your communication approach to different stakeholders.
  • Strong analytic skills, with the ability to use data to help identify potential opportunities or challenges to make data-informed decisions.                 
  • Ability to work on short-term tactical solutions as well as developing longer term strategic plans.                 
  • A demonstrable track record of being accountable and responsible for getting things done and driving outcomes.
