We are looking for a highly driven Assistant Tax Manager to join our Global Tax Team based in Malaysia. You will play a key role in leading key cross-border tax initiatives, provide advisory support to Razer Services’ business units (Razer Gold and FIUU), and ensure compliance with statutory tax reporting across Razer Services’s global operations. This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, particularly in cross border transactions, digital tax, and tax process improvement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and global management to drive tax impact.
Must have:
  • Lead and review corporate and indirect tax filings across multiple countries.
  • Deliver tax provisions and reconciliation in tax expense and deferred tax accounts.
  • Provide tax advisory support on cross-border transactions, digital business models, and international tax rules.
  • Provide tax advisory support for project rollouts and advise on tax implications of business models.
  • Manage transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance from a transfer pricing perspective.
  • Support and lead tax projects, such as e-invoicing implementation and tax rate updates.
  • Act as tax business partner with internal stakeholders to support business projects.
  • Liaise with local and regional tax advisors and provide consolidated tax advice.
  • Provide input and/or advice in operational and system processes for tax compliance.
  • Actively monitor changes in global tax laws and perform research and analysis.
  • Review contracts and/or other legal documents for tax implications.
  • Provide guidance to team members in both compliance and advisory tasks.
Good to have:
  • A member of a recognized professional body such as MIA, ACCA, CPA or an advanced taxation qualification.

This role blends strategic thinking with hands-on execution, particularly in cross border transactions, digital tax, and tax process improvement. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and global management to drive tax impact.   • Lead and review corporate and indirect tax filings prepared by in-house or outsourced teams across multiple countries.
  • Deliver tax provisions and reconciliation in tax expense accounts and deferred tax accounts.
  • Provide tax advisory support on cross-border transactions, digital business models, and international tax rules.
  • Provide tax advisory support for project rollouts and advise on tax implications of various business models.
  • Manage the companies’ transfer pricing policies and ensure compliance from a transfer pricing perspective. Performing cost calculations to ensure that the arm’s length rate is maintained within the group.
  • Support and lead tax projects, such as e-invoicing implementation, tax rate updates, introduction of new tax laws and regulations, implementing changes in reporting / systems where required.
  • Act as tax business partner with internal stakeholders / cross functional teams to support business projects.
  • Liaise with local and regional tax advisors and provide consolidated tax advice to business stakeholders.
  • Provide input and/or advice in operational and system processes to ensure tax compliance is embedded in the business operations.
  • Actively monitor changes in global tax laws to the business and perform research and analysis on the tax implications in business transactions. Maintain documented tax technical advice and update the relevant stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Review contracts and/or other legal documents to determine and communicate any relevant tax implications to internal stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance to team members in both compliance and advisory tasks.

Pre-Requisites :

  • A university graduate in Accounting and Finance. A member of a recognized professional body such as MIA, ACCA, CPA or an advanced taxation qualification is added advantage
  • A minimum of 6 years’ corporate income tax / indirect tax / international tax experience within a Big 4 firm and/or multinational corporation. A candidate with experience in International Tax, Transfer Pricing and/or Cross-Border Transactions is encouraged to apply.
  • Experience handling tax audits, system implementation (Onesource / SAP), and advisory support for digital businesses is an added advantage.
  • ### Skills requirement:
