Job Description
The Senior Industrial Designer will deliver world-class products, defining new product objectives and design strategies. This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and managing product development using advanced design software. Responsibilities include working with existing materials and manufacturing processes, developing unique solutions with engineering, and conducting trend research for CMF direction. The designer will also visualize CMF concepts, manage project priorities, and mentor junior designers, all while understanding user needs and solving design problems.

- Expert-level knowledge of 2D and 3D design visualization and CAD tools.
- Strong sketching and prototype making capabilities.
- Excellent ability to visualize and present CMF concepts and CMF strategy.
- Knowledge of materials, process, assembly, electronics, and production methods.
- Ability to communicate design directions at a high level.
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects.
- Ability to network and establish relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Job Responsibilities :
The Senior Industrial Designer is responsible for delivering world class products, and pro-actively advancing the goals of the Industrial Design Team, from covering early product definition, concepting, development, to production execution.
- Work with design management to define new products, project objectives, and design strategies.
- Exercise expert-level design principles working within Razer’s design language, and proposing updates to the strategy, ensuring relevance over time.
- Conceptualize, design, and manage the development of new products within Razer’s product development processes, leveraging communication tools and techniques in a manner that has a positive impact on the scope of work.
- Use design software to create complete designs that will fulfill the project scope within the schedule parameters defined by product development team.
- Work within Razer’s existing materials and manufacturing processes, and also develop unique differentiating solutions together with Engineering & Product Development.
- Develop trend research as input to the creative process, to identify relevant trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to inspire CMF direction.
- Visualize CMF concepts by using appropriate tools (mood boards, color matching, sketching, advanced rendering) to define and communicate CMF exploration in a comprehensive way.
- Set priorities on all assigned projects and meet established deliverables throughout the development process.
- Responsible for leadership of assigned projects as well as the mentorship of contributing junior designers.
- Understands Razer’s users, identifies design problems and develops solutions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pre-Requisites :
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BFA) or equivalent in industrial design, transportation design, or equivalent field
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Industrial Design
- Expert-level knowledge of 2D and 3D design visualization and CAD tools
- Strong sketching and prototype making capabilities
- Excellent ability to visualize and present CMF concepts and CMF strategy
- Knowledge of materials, process, assembly, electronics, and production methods
- Ability to communicate design directions at a high level within the project team environment through excellent verbal, written & visual communication
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects while managing competing priorities
- Ability to network and establish relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Excellent time management, organization & prioritization skills
- Negotiation and influencing skills as well as determination and tenacity
