Job Summary
We are looking for an Associate VFX Editor who reflects the collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM. The Associate VFX Editor is responsible for assisting in the set-up of projects and ingest of client editorial turnover, completing all editorial tasks on small to medium sized shows, or assisting VFX editors on larger shows. This involves maintaining Shotgrid database and Avid project, outputting sequence files, creating minicuts, assisting in show wrap-up, and processing I/O material.
Must Have
- Good working knowledge of Avid Media Composer or similar NLE software.
- Experience with shot tracking databases (i.e.: Filemaker or Shotgrid).
- Familiarity with Linux systems.
- Previous experience in a VFX editorial role at an assistant VFX editor level or higher.

What You’ll Do
- Maintain Shotgrid database, updating frame ranges according to client updates. Maintain the show Avid project, updating seq and edits as needed. Checking and running out all dailies.
- Outputs sequence movie files, AIFF audio files, and EDLs for internal pipeline.
- Work with production to create minicuts for client sends.
- Assists in show wrap-up including: layoff of movie files, finals reel, archiving, returning assets to client.
- Working with Production and TAs to process and organize I/O material from clients or external sources.
- Liaise directly with client VFX Editorial or Production team, communicate any queries or errors as needed.

**This role is Hybrid, which means the employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 days on-site per week at a Company designated location, and occasionally from home.**
