Summary

Job Description Overview

We are looking for a creative and talented Audio technician. As an audio technician, you will work across all types of audio for video content and may cover productions inside studios or outside on location. The work demands high-level technical and creative skills to follow instructions that ensure the desired production audio is achieved.

This is not full-time employment. It is an on-call/as-needed position through our staffing agency to support our video production projects.

Job Duties

  • Collaborate with the production team to create captivating audio arrangements for various studio and locational shoots.
  • Work with other designers, editors, producers, and clients to comprehend the project goals and expectations
  • Work with director to plan all aspects of audio capture
  • Give realistic, creative input and guidance to scene preparation
  • Excellent theoretical knowledge of mic’ing and audio capture technics
  • Communicate with directors and other designers to determine the best way to capture the audio for the project
  • Knowledge of audio equipment, problem-solving, teamwork.
  • Must be willing to assist with cameras, lighting and rigging equipment for field and studio productions
  • Make sure that the multimedia content follows the quality standards and guidelines of the company and the clients
  • Support with multimedia production, including setting up, maintaining and fixing the audio equipment
  • Solve technical or practical problems
  • Stay informed on modern technology and current industry trends to ensure you use the most updated methods to do the job
  • Edit footage as needed

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in lead audio for video technician or a related role
  • Skillful in using various audio system, such as Yamaha, Shure, etc.
  • Creative and artistic skills, with a good sense of aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well in a team and with clients
  • Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong technical skills for troubleshooting equipment issues
  • A strong attention to detail
  • Flexible schedule to work nights and weekends if required
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs

Education Requirement

  • Associate degree in audio, film, media, or equivalent field experience
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in film is preferred
