Job Description

ByteDance's Network Security team seeks a Backend Software Engineer to design and build scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data models for data products and analytics. Responsibilities include developing APIs and data services, optimizing data infrastructure for performance, and supporting ByteDance businesses with custom network security solutions. The ideal candidate possesses 3+ years of backend software development experience with Golang (or the ability to quickly learn it), expertise in messaging middleware, relational databases, and backend architecture. The role requires designing and building efficient, maintainable systems to protect ByteDance's online businesses from cyberattacks.

Responsibilities - Design and build scalable, maintainable, and efficient data pipelines, ETL workflows, and data models to support data products and analytics. - Develop APIs, data services, or tools to enable data accessibility for internal teams and external stakeholders. - Optimize data pipelines, storage, and queries for performance and scalability. - Support Bytedance businesses with custom built network security solutions to meet compliance and security requirements.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - B.S. or advanced degree in Computer Science or other relevant majors. - 3+ years of backend software development experience. - Strong programming skills and coding style with Golang or the ability to acquire it quickly. - Experience with messaging middleware, relational databases, and backend architecture. - Highly motivated, positive, detail-oriented, and responsible. Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of data visualization tools and their integration with data products. - Experience working with machine learning models or integrating ML/AI capabilities into data products. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $187040 - $280000 annually.​
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.​
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).​
