Job Summary

The Incident Response & Crisis Lead at Nubank orchestrates the company’s global response to critical incidents, investigations, and crises. This role ensures rapid, consistent, and transparent management of all incidents, from localized disruptions to large-scale crises, aligning with Corporate Security, business continuity, and communications standards. The Lead acts as a bridge between GSOC, Corporate Security leadership, and internal stakeholders, driving effective coordination and decision-making. They also develop and improve incident management frameworks, investigation protocols, and crisis readiness programs across regions, fostering resilience and proactive risk management.

Must Have

  • Lead and coordinate response to security incidents, investigations, and crises.
  • Serve as central point of contact for incident escalation, crisis activation, and post-incident reviews.
  • Oversee and conduct investigations into security, operational, or reputational incidents.
  • Develop and maintain global standards, playbooks, and drills for incident and crisis management.
  • Support executive leadership during critical decision-making moments.
  • Analyze incident trends to identify systemic risks and propose preventive measures.
  • Supervise GSOC and regional teams during real-time incidents.
  • Validate incident reports and ensure clear documentation of actions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, International Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in incident response, crisis management, investigations, or Corporate Security operations.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional crisis responses.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills under pressure.
  • Experience developing and implementing global frameworks, playbooks, or training programs.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese.

About the Role

The Incident Response & Crisis Lead at Nubank is responsible for leading and orchestrating the company’s global response to critical incidents, investigations, and crises that could impact our people, operations, assets, or reputation.

This role ensures that all incidents — from localized disruptions to large-scale crises — are managed with speed, consistency, and transparency, in alignment with Nubank’s Corporate Security, business continuity, and communications standards.

Acting as the operational and strategic bridge between GSOC, Corporate Security leadership, and internal stakeholders, this professional ensures effective coordination, situational awareness, and decision-making under pressure.

The Lead drives the development and continuous improvement of our incident management framework, investigation protocols, and crisis readiness programs across regions, ensuring resilience, accountability, and a culture of proactive risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the response to security incidents, investigations, and crises impacting any Nubank site or operation.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for incident escalation, crisis activation, and post-incident reviews.
  • Oversee and conduct investigations into security, operational, or reputational incidents, ensuring root cause analysis, documentation, and corrective actions.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure timely information flow, alignment, and documentation.
  • Develop and maintain global standards, playbooks, and drills for incident and crisis management.
  • Support executive leadership during critical decision-making moments, providing structured situational reports and recommendations.
  • Analyze incident trends to identify systemic risks and propose preventive measures.
  • Supervise GSOC and regional teams during real-time incidents, ensuring accurate prioritization and adherence to escalation protocols.
  • Validate incident reports, ensure clear documentation of actions taken, and follow up on remediation activities.
  • Collaborate with the Metrics & Automation team to track performance indicators (e.g., response time, escalation accuracy, and resolution rates).
  • Promote a culture of resilience, proactivity, and accountability within the Corporate Security organization.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Management, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in incident response, crisis management, investigations, or Corporate Security operations, preferably in multinational or high-growth environments.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional crisis responses and managing complex, time-sensitive situations with executive visibility.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills under pressure, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across functions.
  • Experience developing and implementing global frameworks, playbooks, or training programs for incident and crisis management.
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese; Spanish highly desirable.
