The Product Operation Specialist, Trust and Safety, Japan, is responsible for optimizing search results and ensuring a safe user experience on the platform, particularly for the Japanese market. This role involves search evaluation, investigation, project design, data analysis, and close collaboration with product and technical teams to refine evaluation standards and improve business metrics. The specialist will leverage a deep understanding of the Japanese market and search engine functionalities to drive product optimization and maintain platform safety.

Must Have

• Have a deep understanding and knowledge of the Japanese market, including cultural norms
• Responsible for search evaluation, investigation, and other search-related business requirements
• Provide guidance to deliver all key project milestones and outcomes to optimize search results-related strategies
• Work independently as the evaluation and investigation project designer
• Deeply understand the business and be responsible for the overall process of the project, including planning, implementation and providing high-quality evaluation analysis to help with product optimisation
• Data analysis and insights/reports generation based on evaluation data
• Work closely with Product Managers and technical teams to elaborate and optimize relevant evaluation standards or guidelines and output project SOPs
• Work closely with multiple business partners to ensure business metrics improvement and workflow optimisation
• Bachelor's degree or above
• At least 2 years of experience in an operational role within the tech or digital media sectors, preferably in search functionalities

Good to Have

• Knowledge of AI-driven product enhancements and their implications on user experience
• Project management experience
• Mandarin language skills
• Ability to work independently and make judgement calls using policy and guidelines

We are committed to assisting R&D with algorithms iteration through a large amount of high-quality data, by providing objective evaluation and data analysis for improving user experience in search scenarios. The team plays a vital role in analyzing user searches and search strategy optimization to ensure a positive and safe user experience for our community. Responsibilities:

• Have a deep understanding and knowledge of the Japanese market, including cultural norms.
• Responsible for search evaluation, investigation, and other search-related business requirements and provide guidance to deliver all key project milestones and outcomes to optimize search results-related strategies.
• Work independently as the evaluation and investigation project designer, deeply understand the business, and be responsible for the overall process of the project, including planning, implementation and providing high-quality evaluation analysis to help with product optimisation.
• Data analysis and insights/reports generation based on evaluation data.
• Work closely with Product Managers and technical teams to elaborate and optimize relevant evaluation standards or guidelines and output project SOPs to ensure that the evaluation meets expectations
• Work closely with multiple business partners to ensure business metrics improvement and workflow optimisation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or above.

2. Fluent in English, Fluent in Japanese as stakeholders are based globally and locally

3. At least 2 years of experience in an operational role within the tech or digital media sectors, preferably in search functionalities.

4. In-depth understanding of search engines and TikTok or similar social media platforms. Sensitive to user behavior, content experience, and online security risks. Preferrably possessing the knowledge of AI-driven product enhancements and their implications on user experience.

5. Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of using data to influence decision-making and drive improvements.

6. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and to manage cross-functional operational efforts. Project management experience will be preferred.

7. Flexible, adaptable, proactive and self-motivated, and demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Mandarin language skills as some projects and stakeholders are based in China

2. Ability to work independently and make judgement calls using policy and guidelines
