Product Manager Project Intern (Global Payment-Compliance Platform) - 2026 Start (BS/MS)

The Global Payment team at ByteDance offers payment solutions for platforms like TikTok. As a project intern, you will engage in impactful short-term projects, gaining real-world experience. Responsibilities include participating in early-stage product design for Global Payment Compliance, writing design documents, working with engineering teams to implement features, conducting data analyses to compare product performance, and identifying reusable patterns across solutions. Must Have

• Participate in early-stage product design discussions for Global Payment Compliance projects
• Write product design documents based on business scenarios and/or compliance requirements
• Work with engineering team to implement product features and conduct product reviews
• Conduct data analyses, compare product features' performance, and suggest enhancements
• Summarize and analyze product functionalities to identify reusable patterns
• Currently pursuing at least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, etc.
• Strong passion for payments, finance, and/or e-commerce platforms
• Good comprehension of mainstream products from a user's perspective
• Excellent logical thinking and data analytic skills
• Solid learning capabilities and strong communication skills
• Commit to at least 3 months long internship period

Good to Have

• Previous internship experience in product, technical, and/or data-related roles within internet companies
• Ability to use data analytics tools such as SQL

Responsibilities

About Global Payment The Global Payment team of ByteDance provides payment solutions - including payment acquisitions, disbursements, transaction monitoring, payment method management, foreign exchange conversion, accounting, reconciliations, and so on to ensure that our users have a smooth and secure payment experience on ByteDance platforms including TikTok. As a project intern, you will have the opportunity to engage in impactful short-term projects that provide you with a glimpse of professional real-world experience. You will gain practical skills through on-the-job learning in a fast-paced work environment and develop a deeper understanding of your career interests. • Participate in early-stage product design discussions for Global Payment Compliance projects, and write part of product design documents based on thorough understanding of business scenarios and/or compliance requirements;
• Work with world-class engineering team to implement product features, and conduct product reviews after development is completed;
• Conduct data analyses, compare product features' real performance in the production environment as compared to initial expectations, provide reasonable explanations and offer next-step enhancement suggestions.
• Summarize and analyze different product functionalities, and compare common product capabilities and workflows across multiple solutions to identify reusable patterns and platform-level opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing at least a bachelor's degree in fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, etc.
• Demonstrate a strong passion for payments, finance, and/or e-commerce platforms. Have a good comprehension of mainstream products from a user's perspective.
• Possess excellent logical thinking and data analytic skills, along with solid learning capabilities and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Candidates with previous internship experience in product, technical, and/or data-related roles within internet companies are preferred.
• Those who have the ability to use data analytics tools such as SQL are highly desirable.
