Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Bidding Engineer to support the preparation and execution of bids for a major HVDC Project. This role involves pre-bid and post-bid activities, including technical documentation, specification development, vendor coordination, project scheduling support, and ensuring compliance with international standards. Key responsibilities include developing standard specifications, preparing bidding documents, reviewing tender documents, developing technical specifications for AC and DC equipment, ensuring compliance with IEC, IEEE, and National Grid standards, coordinating with engineering teams, supporting cost estimation and risk analysis, assisting in project structure and schedule development, managing vendor coordination, and handling post-bid activities like client clarifications and contract documentation.
Must Have
- Strong understanding of HVDC Systems: converter stations, AC/DC interface equipment, and auxiliary systems
- Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and relevant grid compliance standards
- Ability to create detailed technical specifications for AC/DC equipment
- Experience in coordinating with equipment suppliers and validating technical compliance
- Familiarity with tools like MS Project or Primavera for schedule preparation
- Proficiency in preparing bidding documents, technical schedules, and compliance matrices
Good to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- 3 to 8+ years’ experience in HVDC projects, power transmission, or EPC bidding
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple bid packages

Project Overview and Responsibilities
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bidding Engineer to support the preparation and execution of bids for a major HVDC Project. This role involves pre-bid and post-bid activities, including technical documentation, specification development, vendor coordination, project scheduling support, and ensuring compliance with international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Bid Activities
- Develop standard specifications for HVDC bidding processes
- Prepare bidding documents in compliance with client requirements
- Review tender documents, specifications, and BOQs
- Develop technical specifications for AC and DC equipment in HVDC systems (e.g., Surge Arrester, Circuit Breaker, Disconnector and earthing switch, PIR, High Speed Switches, transformers, reactors, filters & control systems)
- Develop Technical specifications for Secondary Equipment's. (Heat exchanger, cooling system, DG set)
- Ensure alignment with IEC, IEEE, and National Grid standards
- Coordinate with engineering teams to gather technical inputs for bid proposals
- Support cost estimation and technical risk analysis
- Support in developing HVDC Project structure
- Support in developing HVDC Project Schedule
Vendor Coordination
- Identify and engage with qualified vendors for AC/DC equipment
- Ensure vendor proposals meet technical specifications and ratings defined in the bid
- Review vendor documentation and compliance with IEC/IEEE standards
- Facilitate technical discussions and clarifications with vendors during bid preparation
- Support sourcing strategy and cost optimization
Project Scheduling & Documentation
- Assist in preparing project schedules for bidding and execution phases
- Support development of technical documentation related to project planning and execution
- Ensure timely submission of all technical deliverables as per bid timelines
Post-Bid Activities
- Respond to technical clarifications and queries from the client
- Update and refine technical documentation based on feedback
- Support negotiations and technical presentations during bid evaluation
- Assist in compliance checks and documentation for contract award
