Job Description

Informa Markets, a division of Informa, is seeking a Business Development Executive for its Smartcore sales team in Amsterdam, Netherlands. This role focuses on driving new business and delivering impactful digital marketing solutions for the Food & Nutrition industry. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, collaborate on campaigns, sell online advertising and content, build client relationships, and manage the sales pipeline. The position requires B2B digital marketing and sales experience, strong communication, and problem-solving skills.

Must Have:
  • Find new opportunities and build strong relationships with potential clients.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to generate leads and drive engagement.
  • Drive revenue by selling online advertising, custom content, and editorial solutions.
  • Develop lasting relationships with small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Use consultative selling to address client challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Craft compelling proposals and contracts, negotiate effectively, and handle objections.
  • Keep Salesforce CRM updated with accurate pipeline and sales information.
  • Report progress on customer pipelines and bookings to management.
  • Proven B2B sales experience in digital marketing and sales.
  • Understanding of integrated B2B marketing campaigns.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Ability to identify upselling opportunities to grow accounts.
  • Problem-solving mindset to ask the right questions and handle objections.
  • Confidence in delivering pitches and proposals.
  • Willingness to travel when needed.

Join our Smartcore sales team at Informa Markets and help shape the future of Food & Nutrition Marketing and Media Services. Smartcore specializes in B2B digital marketing solutions, offering businesses access to a powerful digital ecosystem that includes online directories, webinar series, and world-renowned trade shows. With a database of over 400,000 food and nutrition professionals, an in-house content team, and digital marketing expertise, we’re leaders in the industry.

We’re growing and looking for a Business Development Executive to bring fresh energy and ideas to our team. You’ll work alongside digital marketing specialists, content experts, and industry professionals to drive new business and deliver impactful solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Find new opportunities: Reach out to potential clients and follow up to build strong relationships.
  • Collaborate on campaigns: Work with our marketing team to generate leads and drive engagement.
  • Drive revenue: Sell online advertising, custom content, and editorial solutions to meet client needs.
  • Build connections: Develop lasting relationships with small and medium-sized businesses.
  • Consult and solve: Use consultative selling techniques to address client challenges and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Create and negotiate: Craft compelling proposals and contracts, negotiate effectively, and handle objections with confidence.
  • Stay organized: Keep Salesforce CRM updated with accurate pipeline and sales information.
  • Report progress: Share updates on customer pipelines and bookings with your manager.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • B2B sales experience: Proven track record in digital marketing and sales.
  • Marketing expertise: Understanding of integrated B2B marketing campaigns.
  • CRM knowledge: Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal English (additional languages are a bonus).
  • Upselling ability: Spot opportunities to grow accounts and deliver more value.
  • Problem-solving mindset: Ask the right questions and handle objections effectively.
  • Presentation skills: Confident in delivering pitches and proposals.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel when needed.
