Rain, the fastest-growing earned wage access (EWA) fintech in the U.S., is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to drive growth and generate high-quality opportunities for Account Executives. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about technology sales, with a resilient, disciplined, and competitive drive. The BDR will own the top of the sales funnel by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective employer partners through high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calls, emails, and social platforms. Responsibilities include conducting thorough research, qualifying leads, scheduling discovery meetings, achieving KPIs, maintaining CRM hygiene, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Success relies on consistent execution, quick learning, and professionalism.

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) who is passionate about driving impact in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for someone looking to launch or advance their career in technology sales. As an BDR, you will play a critical role in fueling Rain’s growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying prospective employer partners. You will own the top of the sales funnel and be responsible for generating high-quality opportunities for our Account Executives.

This position requires resilience, discipline, and a competitive drive. Top candidates will be detail-oriented, collaborative team players, and hungry to improve every day. You will be supported by a data-driven team and technology stack, but success depends on your ability to execute consistently, learn quickly, and bring energy and professionalism to every interaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute high-volume outbound prospecting via cold calls, emails, and social platforms to engage prospective clients
  • Conduct thorough research to personalize outreach and demonstrate relevance to each target account and persona
  • Qualify leads using structured criteria and schedule discovery meetings with Account Executives
  • Achieve or exceed KPIs, including meetings held, pipeline generated, and outreach activity levels
  • Maintain CRM hygiene with precision, ensuring accurate tracking of all activities and lead progression
  • Continuously test and iterate on messaging, sequencing, and tactics to improve results
  • Collaborate with teammates and cross-functional partners (e.g., Marketing, Enablement, RevOps) to share best practices and drive team success
  • Participate in coaching, training, and peer-learning initiatives to continuously improve sales skills and product knowledge
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a sales or client-facing role
  • Demonstrated resilience in the face of rejection and ability to thrive in high-activity environments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort with outbound calling
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to outreach, follow-up, and CRM usage
  • Self-motivated and accountable — you own your numbers and take pride in your work
  • Competitive mindset — driven to exceed targets and rank among the top performers
  • Eager to receive feedback, learn from peers, and experiment with new approaches
