Job Description

This contract Character Artist role at a leading Swedish game development studio involves creating character and prop assets for a sci-fi bloodsport, squad-based, free-to-play multiplayer shooter. Responsibilities include building low-poly and high-poly assets, UV mapping, and preparing assets for baking. The studio, comprised of Battlefield veterans, utilizes state-of-the-art technology. Candidates should have 5+ years of experience as a Character Artist, including contract work within AAA game production, and proficiency in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, or similar software.
Must Have:
  • 5+ years Character Artist experience
  • AAA game production experience
  • Proficient in Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter
  • Low-poly & high-poly asset creation

Responsibilities and Requirements

As a Contract Character Artist, you will create character and prop assets based on concept art delivered by our client’s Art team. You will need to build and organise both low-poly and high-poly versions of these assets according to the studio’s demands; these should have all relevant UVs and be ready for baking.

About You

  • Worked as a Character Artist for 5+ years
  • Prior experience as a contractor artist – familiarity with AAA game production and consistently hitting milestones and deadlines will be appreciated
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the 3D art pipeline
  • Skilled in Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter or similar programs
  • Passionate about making games in collaborative teams
