Job Description

Sloclap is looking for a confirmed Character Artist for their Rematch project, working under the Associate Lead Character Artist. The role involves producing assets for game customization, maintaining a consistent artistic style, sculpting, modeling, retopology, UV layout, texturing, and integrating assets into the engine. The artist will collaborate with Concept, Rigging, and Animation teams.
Good To Have:
  • Prior experience with Unreal Engine 4/5
  • Knowledge of technical aspects (e.g., shader, Substance Designer, Python)
Must Have:
  • Produce assets for the Rematch game customization
  • Maintain a uniform and coherent artistic style for the project
  • Perform sculpting, modeling, retopology, UV layout, texturing
  • Integrate assets into the engine
  • Collaborate with Concept, Rigging, and Animation departments
  • Adaptability and initiative
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Character Artist or similar
  • Extensive knowledge of human anatomy and clothing sculpting
  • Strong sensitivity for stylized art direction
  • Good understanding of video game production pipelines and real-time constraints
  • Ability to work autonomously, iterate on feedback, and work in a team
  • Ability to be proactive, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in ZBrush, 3DsMax, and Substance Painter for video game production
  • Proficiency in written English

DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

We are looking for a Confirmed Character Artist for our Rematch project. You will be under the supervision of the Associate Lead Character Artist.

The team you will be working with is composed of 2 people of all seniority levels. You will primarily interact with the Artistic teams.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Production of assets for the customization of the Rematch game
  • Maintaining a uniform and coherent artistic style across the entire project to respect the Art Direction
  • Sculpting / Modeling, Retopology, UV layout, texturing
  • Integration of assets into the engine
  • Collaborate with different departments (Concept/rigging/animation)

SOUGHT PROFILE

We are looking for the following skills:

  • Adaptability and initiative
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Character Artist or similar position
  • Extensive knowledge of human anatomy and clothing sculpting
  • Strong sensitivity for stylized Art Direction
  • Good understanding of video game production pipelines and real-time constraints
  • Ability to work autonomously, iterate on feedback, work in a team
  • Ability to be proactive, prioritize tasks and communicate about them
  • Proficiency in ZBrush, 3DsMax and Substance Painter in the context of video game production
  • Proficiency in written English

Position available for permanent contract (CDI) as soon as possible.

Compensation takes into account the SNJV benchmark and our internal salary grids.
