Chief Steward

Sofitel Bahrain is seeking an experienced and highly organized Chief Steward to lead its Stewarding Department. The role involves ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency across all kitchen and back-of-house areas. Key responsibilities include leading and training the stewarding team, maintaining HACCP and hotel hygiene standards, overseeing inventory and equipment, coordinating cleaning operations, monitoring costs, and collaborating with Culinary and F&B teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with solid knowledge of kitchen operations and hygiene.

Must Have

• Lead, train, and supervise the stewarding team to ensure smooth daily operations
• Maintain hygiene, sanitation, and safety standards in line with HACCP and hotel policies
• Oversee inventory, storage, and distribution of cleaning materials and kitchen equipment
• Coordinate washing, cleaning, and polishing of kitchen utensils, silverware, and equipment
• Monitor breakage, equipment maintenance, and cost control
• Collaborate closely with Culinary and F&B teams to support operational needs
• Prepare duty rosters and manage staff performance and schedules
• Previous experience as Chief Steward in a luxury hotel or resort
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Solid knowledge of hygiene, sanitation standards, and kitchen operations
• Ability to manage a multicultural team and work in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and a hands-on management approach
