Job Summary
This position supports Transportation and Logistics material handling at the Waterton Facility, both on and off-site. The role involves operating various company vehicles, including tractors/trailers, light and heavy equipment, and Class A commercial motor vehicles, to transport flight hardware, materials, tools, personnel, and equipment. Responsibilities include selecting appropriate trailers, securing loads, determining efficient routes, and adhering to DOT/FMCSA safety regulations. The driver will assist with loading and unloading and may be required to make overnight trips.
Must Have
- Operate tractors/trailers, light, heavy vehicle equipment, Class A commercial motor vehicles and forklifts
- Transport flight hardware, scheduled material, tools, personnel and equipment
- Select appropriate company owned trailer (RGN, ramp, flatbed, step deck, double drop, dry van, temperature controlled, steerable, specialty)
- Make appropriate adjustments to equipment for proper load and weight distribution
- Receive written or oral instructions, plan efficient and safest manner of arranging and properly securing load
- Determine best route from starting point to destination
- Assist in the loading and unloading of trailer
- Operate vehicle during the trip observing all traffic and other DOT / FMCSA safety regulations
- Active Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Oversize Load Experience
- Forklift Experience
- Material handling and load securement experience
- Experience with a variety of trailers (Flat Bed, Van, RGN, Specialty, etc)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI w/ Polygraph security clearance

Description:This position will support Transportation and Logistics material handling both on and off-site at the Waterton Facility.
Perform all assigned tasks necessary to support Vehicle Move Management customer requirements. Operate tractors/trailers, light, heavy vehicle equipment, Class A commercial motor vehicles and forklifts to transport flight hardware, scheduled material, tools, personnel and equipment to meet customer milestones, maintain production schedule and other critical schedules.
Responsibilities include:
- Operates company equipment to include cars, vans, stake trucks and class A and B commercial motor vehicles to transport a wide variety of parts, materials, flight hardware, equipment, tools, components, calibrated instruments, classified hardware, haz-mat, ordnance, assembled products, oversized loads, and/or specialized oversize spacecraft shipping containers between between various company facilities, test sites, customer, sub-contractor and vendor locations.
- When operating class A commercial motor vehicles, uses knowledge and training to select appropriate company owned trailer to include RGN, various ramp, flatbed, step deck, double drop, dry van, temperature controlled, steerable and other specialty trailers to transport various cargo. Makes appropriate adjustments to equipment for proper load distribution and weight distribution to equipment axles.
- Travels on all types of roads and may be required to make overnight trips up to 10% of time.
- Receives written or oral instructions, plans most efficient and safest manner of arranging and properly securing load.

Basic Qualifications:

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
The base range for this position in Colorado is $25.00 - $40.70.
