Job Description

Ansira’s Procurement Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Commercial Contracts Manager to oversee the full lifecycle of both vendor and client contracts. This role will have a strong focus on drafting and negotiating Statements of Work (SOWs) and detailed scopes of services. The ideal candidate will be a key contributor to advancing procurement objectives including cost reduction, risk mitigation, and scalable contracting processes across the organization.

Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Procurement, this position serves as a strategic business partner collaborating closely with Procurement, Legal, Sales, and operational teams to ensure contracts—including SOWs—are clearly defined, commercially sound, and compliant with company policies.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate SOWs and detailed scope of services for both vendor and client-facing agreements, encompassing deliverables, milestones, service levels, pricing structures, assumptions, dependencies, and change control mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (Procurement, Legal, Client Partnerships, Operations, Finance) to translate business needs into clear, executable contractual scopes that minimize risk and prevent scope creep.
  • Manage the entire contract lifecycle from initiation through execution, renewal, and closeout, ensuring timely approvals and compliance.
  • Identify, analyze, and escalate critical contract terms such as indemnification, liability, and risk provisions.
  • Provide actionable recommendations on contract terms and their commercial and operational impacts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business units and vendor/client partners to deliver enterprise-wide process improvements.
  • Educate business units, vendors and clients on procurement policies, procedures and best practices.
  • Develop and execute strategies for cost reduction and lead negotiations on fees, rates, subsidies and other financial terms.
  • Oversee the requisition to purchase order (PO) process for assigned commodities.
  • Maintain the contract database / repository, ensuring accurate documentation, updates, and easy accessibility of all contracts.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Extensive knowledge of contract administration, procurement principles, laws and funding procedures.
  • Proven experience drafting SOWs and scopes of services from inception, not just reviewing or redlining.
  • Expertise in structuring commercial terms within SOWs, including fee models, rate cards, milestones, and performance metrics.
  • Strong understanding of how contract scope impacts operational delivery, financial risk, and compliance.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills with sound judgement and strategic thinking.
  • Strong collaboration, communication (written and verbal) and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated negotiation experience in complex commercial contracts.
  • Solid understanding of contract management processes.
  • Advances proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related business software.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field (required).
  • 6-9 years of progressive experience in contract management and procurement, with demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating SOWs and scopes for both vendor (buy-side) and client (sell-side) agreements.
  • Professional certification in purchasing or contract management is a plus.
  • Experience managing a broad range of contract types in a corporate environment, including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS / technology agreements, amendments, SOWs and related ordering documents.
  • Proficiency in contract management systems, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Docusign, ERP platforms, and risk analysis tools experience is highly desirable.
