Job Summary

LSEG is seeking a Director, Operational Resilience – Resilience Testing Director to lead the design, execution, and evolution of the Group’s resilience testing strategy. This senior role ensures critical business services can withstand and recover from disruptions, aligning with regulatory expectations and risk appetite. The successful candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration across the First and Second lines of defense, shaping and embedding a new Resilience Operating Model with a strong emphasis on testing and measuring resiliency across the LSEG Group.

Must Have

  • Lead the development and execution of resilience testing across Important Business Services.
  • Design and maintain a catalogue of severe but plausible scenarios.
  • Ensure testing aligns with FCA, PRA, DORA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Identify vulnerabilities across technology, data, and third-party dependencies.
  • Oversee remediation planning and prioritization based on business impact and strategic risk.

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Group’s resilience testing framework.
  • Proven experience in designing and leading resilience testing programs in regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of operational resilience frameworks (FCA, PRA, DORA, Basel principles).
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.

  • Crises Management experience.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, BPM) and resilience automation tools.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Certifications like CBCP, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, PECB Certified Lead Operational Resilience Manager.
  • Experience in a global consultancy or senior resilience role within a large financial services organization.

The Role

LSEG is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Director, Operational Resilience – Resilience Testing Director. As a senior leader within the Operational Resilience function, the Resilience Testing Manager will be responsible for designing, executing, and evolving the Group’s resilience testing strategy. This role ensures that critical business services can withstand and recover from severe but plausible disruptions, in alignment with regulatory expectations and enterprise risk appetite. Reporting to the Group Director, Operational Resilience, the successful candidate will drive cross-functional collaboration across the First and Second lines of defence. This role is pivotal in shaping and embedding a new Resilience Operating Model across the Group, with a strong emphasis on testing and measuring resiliency across the LSEG Group.

Key Responsibilities & Desired Outcomes

Scenario Testing Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of resilience testing across Important Business Services.
  • Design and maintain a catalogue of severe but plausible scenarios tailored to the organization’s threat landscape.
  • Ensure testing aligns with FCA, PRA, DORA, and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Additionally, Crises Management experience would be highly valued.

Vulnerability Identification & Management

  • Identify vulnerabilities across technology, data, and third-party dependencies.
  • Oversee remediation planning and prioritization based on business impact and strategic risk.
  • Partner with business and risk owners to ensure timely resolution and escalation of critical issues.
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of scenarios, to identify upstream and downstream impacts of vulnerabilities

Governance & Reporting

  • Provide structured reporting to senior governance forums on testing outcomes, vulnerabilities, and remediation progress.
  • Support regulatory engagement and peer benchmarking activities.
  • Develop and maintain resilience KPIs and metrics to track maturity and effectiveness.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with Technology, Cyber, Risk, and Crisis Management teams to ensure integrated testing efforts.
  • Facilitate workshops and exercises to build resilience awareness and capability across the Group.
  • Align testing activities with broader resilience programs, including Business Continuity and Crisis Response.

Strategic Horizon Scanning

  • Monitor emerging threats and industry trends to inform future testing scenarios.
  • Integrate lessons learned from internal incidents and external events into the testing framework.

Tooling and Testing capabilities

  • Experience with deploying advanced testing practices, including but not limited to the build and use of)
  • Threat-led Penetration testing (TLPT)
  • Scenario-Based stress testing
  • AI-Driven Simulation & Digital Twin Technology
  • Vulnerability Assessments & Automated Testing
  • Network & Infrastructure Resilience Testing
  • Source Code & Configuration Reviews

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of the Group’s resilience testing framework.
  • Mentor and guide teams in test design, execution, and analysis.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Professional & Technical Expertise

  • Proven experience in designing and leading resilience testing programs across complex, regulated environments.
  • Deep understanding of operational resilience frameworks, including FCA, PRA, DORA, and Basel principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify Important Business Services, set impact tolerances, and map dependencies across technology, data, and third-party ecosystems.
  • Experience with scenario testing, incident simulation, and post-event analysis.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, BPM) and resilience automation tools.
  • Strong grasp of technology infrastructure resilience, including cloud architectures, failover strategies, and IT recovery planning.

Strategic & Analytical Capabilities

  • Ability to align resilience testing with enterprise risk appetite and strategic objectives.
  • Skilled in risk assessment, horizon scanning, and integrating lessons learned into future testing cycles.
  • Proficient in using data, KPIs, and analytics to measure resilience maturity and drive continuous improvement.

Leadership, Influence & Collaboration

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage regulators, executive leadership, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams across Risk, Technology, Cybersecurity, and Business Divisions.
  • Experience in governance and policy development, including establishing resilience oversight structures and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ability to inspire and mentor teams, fostering a culture of learning, adaptability, and “failing forward.”
  • Experience with building an Operational Resilience testing function in the financial services industry
  • Governance & Policy Development – Experience in establishing and managing resilience governance frameworks.

Education & Certifications (Not essential)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Risk Management, Business Continuity, Information Technology).

Compensation Information:

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated annual gross base salary for this position is between zł245,700 - zł409,500. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Bonus Plan (”bonus plan”). Target Bonus % will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job-related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
