Job Summary

The NRMA Group, one of Australia’s most trusted member-owned brands, is seeking a Commercial Finance Analyst. This full-time permanent role involves driving commercial decisions through financial analysis, business case analysis, and recommendations for the Roadside and Membership divisions. The position offers exposure to diverse business units and senior leaders, with a hybrid work arrangement across Sydney CBD, Sydney Olympic Park, and work-from-home. Responsibilities include financial analysis, model development, month-end close support, reporting key membership metrics, and proactive business process improvements.

Must Have

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in an analytical role within commercial / corporate finance, commercial development, and business support
  • CA/CPA/CFA qualified or currently working towards
  • Strong commercial and business acumen
  • Strong financial modelling and Excel skills
  • Strong report writing skills
  • Ability to challenge thinking and work effectively within a matrix organisation

Good to Have

  • Experience with TM1, Tableau, AI tools or similar tools is advantageous
  • Experience in costing models in large service-based organisations (e.g., Healthcare, Emergency Services, Telco, Subscriptions, Airlines) is advantageous

What You'll Do

Join our Commercial Finance team as a Commercial Finance Analyst. In this full-time permanent role, you will be responsible for commercial finance support across both our Roadside and Membership divisions. This will include modelling and analysis to inform both setting and achievement of objectives across the supported divisions.

This role is a hybrid work arrangement where you will work across our Sydney CBD and Sydney Olympic Park offices as well as some work from home, as required and agreed.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial analysis to support the management of business budgets/targets. This includes delivering commercial finance support to key portfolios including Marketing, National Assistance Program (NAPs), myNRMA membership product and our relationship with IAG (NRMA Insurance).
  • Financial model development which tracks and analyses actual performance against forecast, budget and prior year.
  • Work collaboratively with Corporate Finance to deliver month end close process including liaising with key partners to deliver required inputs.
  • Manage the reporting of key membership metrics and assist in the development of commercial benchmarks and KPIs.
  • Proactive recommendations to business on identified business process improvements
  • Conduct financial modelling and business case evaluations to inform key contractual decisions, presenting commercial recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Assist with inputs for Board reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
  • Support regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to effectively drive business outcomes.
  • Support regular and ad hoc reporting and analysis as required as well as managing ongoing risk & opportunities tracking.
  • Support the wider commercial finance team as required, including providing key support to continuous improvement.

What You'll Bring
