About the position
Mimecast Legal is looking for a Corporate Compliance Operations Manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced, global team. This role will support Mimecast in driving compliance initiatives that support and strengthen our ethical culture, align with international regulatory standards and contractual commitments, and reinforce our commitment to a respectful workplace.
As a key member of our Legal team supporting Mimecast’s global operations, you’ll need strong attention to detail, analytical skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work to a high standard within tight deadlines within an energetic, solution-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to, supporting the Company’s ethical workforce and Company initiatives by:
Training & Awareness
- Coordinate the preparation and global rollout of corporate compliance training programs, ensuring content is up to date, engaging, and aligned with company values.
- Manage logistics for live and virtual training sessions, including scheduling, communications, and tracking completion rates.
- Monitor training effectiveness through compliance metrics and other reporting methods.
Policy Management
- Facilitate policy reviews and updates in collaboration with the Chief Compliance Officer, outside legal counsel, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and global applicability.
- Maintain a centralized policy repository and oversee employee acknowledgment workflows.
Regulatory Monitoring & Engagement
- Coordinate guidance from local counsel to stay informed on global regulatory updates.
- Recommend operational adjustments to compliance program and reporting processes.
- Assist in preparing compliance reports and presentations for senior leadership and regulators, as needed.
Compliance Operations & Tracking
- Oversee systems and processes to track employee attendance, training completion, and policy affirmations.
- Provide regular reports to leadership, identifying trends, risk areas, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support audit and internal review processes, ensuring evidence of compliance is accurate, current, and well-organized.
- Provide general support the Company’s general compliance program.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience coordinating global training programs and policy management processes;
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities;
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex compliance topics in clear, practical terms;
- Hold the highest standards of ethics, discretion, professional integrity, and commitment to fostering a culture of respect and compliance;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work within cross-functional teams;
- Ability to work independently and be self-driven to meet objectives, often in ambiguous, fast-paced environments;
- Exercise sound business judgment, risk assessment, and critical thinking for driving solutions;
- Contribute to achievement of departmental goals with direct impact on results;
- Ability to prioritize and manage a number of complex projects that have a significant and long-lasting impacts under tight deadlines;
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal and compliance matters as well as learn and develop as your career progresses; and
- Excellent written and verbal communication as well as problem-solving and analytical, skills;
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Compliance, or a related field preferred;
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in compliance, legal operations, or risk management, preferably within cybersecurity, SaaS, or another highly regulated industry; and
- As a global company with offices all over the world, candidates should be comfortable in a global operating environment, have the ability to travel internationally, and be able to function in a global time-zone environment.
The RSA base salary range for this position is base R400 000,00 - R600 000,00 + benefits. This reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. This position may also be eligible for bonus, and other related benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. These factors and individual capabilities will also determine the individual pay offered
