Job Description

Under the responsibility of the Compliance and Regulatory Supervisor, the Compliance & Regulatory Analyst ensures understanding of different product lines and their chemical compositions, monitors regulatory trends for chemical products of interest, and ensures compliance with current regulations. This role involves reviewing prohibited substances, providing expertise on Canadian regulations (VOCs, TDG, TSCA, GHS, DSL), updating ISO records, creating and maintaining SDS in SAP, and supporting the Compliance Director for DSL, WHMIS, and GHS compliance.

Must Have:
  • Examine periodically Sika's list of prohibited substances and identify potential problems within our products.
  • Provide expertise as an internal reference on Canadian regulations concerning volatile organic compounds (VOCs), transport of dangerous goods (TDG), retail labels, the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Globally Harmonized System (GHS), the Domestic Substances List (DSL), etc.
  • Update records to ensure ISO requirements are maintained (formulas, safety labels, QC data, and safety data sheets (SDS)).
  • Create and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) in SAP for new and existing products.
  • Establish and maintain all regulatory requirements for all types of transport used for our products (TDG).
  • Support the Compliance Director for the Domestic Substances List (DSL) regarding raw materials and finished products.
  • Support the Compliance Director for WHMIS and GHS regulatory compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a relevant field
  • 1 year of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Bilingual (French and English) to facilitate exchanges with the team outside Quebec (60% of the time) and international colleagues.

  • Periodically review Sika's list of prohibited substances and identify potential problems within our products.
