Job Summary
Manychat is seeking a Compliance Partner to own and lead employee relations and compliance matters. This senior, hands-on individual contributor role involves managing complex compliance cases, leading involuntary terminations, and proactively reducing people-related legal risks. The role requires defining investigation plans, advising on employee relations, and developing key people policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong legal mindset, international experience in employment law, and the ability to balance legal risk with business needs.
Must Have
- Own and manage all compliance cases, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, employee complaints, and misconduct
- Lead and conduct investigations together with People Partners, ensuring fairness, consistency, and legal soundness
- Define investigation plans, participate in interviews, document outcomes, and recommend actions
- Act as a trusted advisor on complex employee relations situations
- Evaluate termination risk exposure and determine when escalation to Legal or external counsel is required
- Lead all involuntary terminations to minimize legal and reputational risks
- Assess and determine appropriate approaches (performance vs misconduct, PIP vs immediate termination)
- Ensure proper documentation, timelines, approvals, and consistency across cases
- Partner with HRA on local employment law requirements and execution
- Collaborate with Total Rewards on severance, compensation, and benefits-related aspects
- Participate in complex termination conversations when needed
- Conduct post-termination risk assessments and recommend mitigation actions
- Own, develop, and continuously improve key people policies (Code of Conduct, Anti-Harassment, Disciplinary, Termination, Complaints)
- Ensure policies are up to date, compliant with local laws, and aligned with company values
- Translate policies into practical playbooks and decision frameworks for managers and People Partners
- Regularly review policies to identify gaps and emerging risks
- Identify early signals and trends that may lead to compliance risks
- Analyze data from engagement surveys, exit interviews, and recurring complaints
- Build compliance risk overviews and share insights with People Leadership
- Partner with PeopleOps and People Analytics to support data-informed decisions
- Enable People Partners with clear guidance on compliance handling and escalation
- Train managers on compliant performance management, documentation, and difficult conversations
- Run office hours and consultations to address risks before they escalate into cases
- Navigate employment law across multiple regions, quickly adapting to new locations as we expand
- Partner with HRA and external legal counsel when needed to ensure local compliance
- Help define global compliance principles with appropriate local adaptations
- Experience partnering closely with Legal teams or acting as a legal liaison on people matters
- Strong ability to assess legal exposure and articulate risk trade-offs to business leaders
- Proven experience handling employee relations and compliance cases in an international environment
- Strong practical understanding of employment law, with the ability to quickly adapt to new jurisdictions
- Hands-on experience leading investigations and involuntary terminations
- Ability to balance legal risk, fairness, and business needs
- High level of discretion, judgment, and integrity
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with senior leaders and managers
- Comfortable working independently and owning complex topics end-to-end
- Experience partnering with HR, People Partners, Legal, and leadership teams
- Fluent English

We’re looking for a Compliance Partner to own and lead employee relations and compliance matters at Manychat.
This is a senior, hands-on individual contributor role. You will be responsible for managing complex compliance cases, leading involuntary terminations, and proactively reducing people-related legal risks across the company. You’ll work closely with People Partners, HRA, Total Rewards, and report to the PeopleOps Lead.
You bring a strong legal mindset to people matters, with a focus on defensible decision-making, consistency, and risk mitigation. Serve as the primary owner of people-related legal risk, ensuring decisions are compliant, well-documented, and defensible if challenged.
WHAT YOU’LL DO 🚀
Compliance & Employee Relations
