JOB OVERVIEW
Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Computer Vision Architect. In this role, you will be the technical visionary and hands-on lead for our camera-based recognition systems that complement our RFID-powered solutions. You will design, prototype, and scale intelligent vision systems to track game actions, player behaviors, chip movements, and dealer performance across a variety of table games.
Your work will directly contribute to enhancing game security, player analytics, and dealer auditing, helping casinos gain unprecedented transparency and operational excellence. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a computer vision architecture from the ground up—working closely with our RFID engineers, data scientists, product managers, and casino operators. This is an exciting job with room for significant career growth.
Please Note: You must have at least 7+ years of experience in computer vision, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or architecture role to be considered.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Design and lead the architecture of vision-based systems for real-time game state recognition (e.g., card dealing, chip movements, hand gestures).
- Develop computer vision pipelines combining classical methods and deep learning (e.g., object detection, pose estimation, image segmentation).
- Work on multi-camera tracking, camera calibration, and fusion with RFID signal data.
- Build edge-based and cloud-optimized models for deployment in high-traffic, low-light casino environments.
- Establish data pipelines for collecting and annotating casino video data, leveraging both manual labeling and semi-automated methods.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate vision with game engines, RFID readers, and player management systems.
- Optimize model performance for latency, throughput, and robustness in noisy and variable real-world environments.
- Guide junior ML and computer vision engineers through code reviews, mentoring, and system design workshops.
- Stay abreast of industry trends (e.g., Vision Transformers, multi-modal AI, synthetic data generation) and apply them where practical.
EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in computer vision, with 3+ years in a technical leadership or architecture role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and one or more deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
- Hands-on experience with real-time object tracking, pose estimation, or action recognition.
- Demonstrated success building vision models for edge or embedded systems (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson, OpenVINO).
- Familiarity with OpenCV, MediaPipe, or custom CUDA acceleration pipelines.
- Ability to integrate vision output with structured sensor data (e.g., RFID, IoT).
- Experience building vision systems for environments with occlusion, low light, and overlapping objects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across geographies and disciplines.
- Excellent communication skills — fluent in English language (verbal and written).
- Must have an organized and analytical working style, and the ability to plan your own work.
- Initiative and drive to do great things.
Nice to have:
- Experience in casino, gaming, sports analytics, or retail surveillance environments.
- Knowledge of reinforcement learning, generative models, or multi-agent tracking.
- Familiarity with cloud-to-edge deployment architectures (e.g., AWS Greengrass, Kafka, MQTT).
- Fluency in C++ or Rust for low-level camera interfacing or inference acceleration.
