Senior Backend Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a highly experienced with strong expertise in TypeScript and Node.js in production environments. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of relational databases and a proven track record of delivering scalable, reliable, and high-performance software solutions. This is an exciting job with room for significant career growth.

Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of experience with Node and TypeScript to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using TypeScript and Node.js.
• Model and optimize relational database schemas in PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL.
• Build secure, scalable, and maintainable APIs and backend systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize performance across the stack.
• Contribute to architectural decisions to ensure scalability and maintainability.

EXPERIENCE

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript and Node.js in a production setting.
• Expertise in relational database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL).
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to maintain a positive work attitude.
• Initiative and drive to do great things.

Nice to Have

• Experience with React / Next.js.
• Experience with React Native for mobile development.
• Proficiency in implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, including App Engine or Cloud Functions.
