  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters.
  • Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka.
  • Manage and troubleshoot networking configurations.
  • Utilize Linux command-line tools for system administration.
  • Implement best practices for security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for a skilled System Engineer to join our team and take ownership of maintaining and optimizing our core infrastructure. This role involves managing Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability of PostgreSQL databases, maintaining Kafka environments, and handling core networking and Linux systems administration tasks. JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Administer and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including setup, configuration, performance tuning, and replication management.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka for high-throughput data streaming applications.
  • Manage and troubleshoot networking configurations, including routing, DNS, firewalls, and load balancing.
  • Utilize Linux command-line tools for system administration, automation, and performance monitoring.
  • Implement best practices for security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure infrastructure stability and scalability.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and incident resolutions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters in production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL administration and replication strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, firewalls).
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and shell scripting.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Knowledge of container registries and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Have solid written and verbal English skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work attitude.
