Senior Full Stack Engineer

JOB OVERVIEW

Plan A Technologies is looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to design and deliver scalable, reliable backend systems using TypeScript, Node.js, and NestJS. You will shape data models, architect performant services, and ensure strong development processes on Postgres, Redis, and Google Cloud.

Please note: you must have at least 9+ years of experience as a Full Stack Engineer to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality backend services using TypeScript and NestJS, ensuring clean architecture and maintainable patterns.
• Model relational schemas and optimize queries for PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL. Ensure data integrity and scalability.
• Implement caching, queues, and fast data access using Redis.
• Build robust RESTful or GraphQL APIs as required and integrate internal/external systems.
• Write and maintain unit and integration tests, leveraging frameworks like Jest, ensuring code quality and reliability.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployments.
• Collaborate with, mentor, and review code alongside peers to foster best practices and technical growth.
• Deploy services and workloads to Google Cloud environments (App Engine, Functions, etc.), managing scalability, observability, and cost trade-offs.

EXPERIENCE

• 9+ years of professional software development experience
• Hands-on experience building production systems with TypeScript and Node.js using NestJS or similar frameworks.
• Proven experience working with relational databases—modeling and tuning using PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver scalable, resilient, and maintainable software solutions.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with emphasis on writing clean, efficient, well-tested code.
• Frontend experience with React or Next.js—especially for API coupling or full-stack collaboration
• Mobile experience using React Native (ideally with Expo)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
• Knowledge of Google Cloud platforms, including App Engine or Cloud Functions
• Familiarity with caching systems, background jobs, or real-time services (e.g., via Redis, Pub/Sub)
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
