LightSpeed Japan Studio is a game development studio dedicated to crafting original AAA action game titles for global audiences. Led by industry veteran Hideaki Itsuno, the studio operates across two locations in Tokyo and Osaka. 1. Creation of Photorealistic Visual Concepts
Develop visual concepts that express the overall visual direction of games or visual works, including the world, characters, and environments, with a photorealistic style.
2. Photorealistic Character and Enemy Design
Design in-game characters and enemies based on their personality and background, creating unique and visually compelling representations.
3. Environment Design and World-Building
Design in-game stages, environments, and background art to deliver an immersive world that enhances player engagement.
4. Development of Visual Style Guidelines
Establish visual style guidelines for the game to ensure consistency across all art elements, including characters, effects, and backgrounds.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with game designers and 3D artists to ensure visual elements are well-integrated into the gameplay experience.
6. Art Supervision and Documentation for External Partners
Prepare briefing materials and specifications for outsourcing, and supervise art production by external vendors to maintain quality and consistency.
1. Concept Art Experience
Experience in concept art within the gaming industry (experience with AAA titles is a plus). Strong knowledge and a proven track record in designing characters, environments, and effects.
2. Proficiency with Design Tools
Advanced skills in using major design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
3. Basic Understanding of 3D Art
Fundamental knowledge of 3D software (e.g., Maya, ZBrush) and the ability to collaborate effectively with 3D artists.
4. Teamwork and Communication Skills
Excellent communication skills to work smoothly with other artists and directors, contributing to overall project success.
5. Flexibility in Responding to Feedback
Ability to accept and incorporate feedback from team members and clients with a flexible and constructive attitude.
Compensation
Annual salary: negotiable (with raises/bonuses).
*Consideration will be given to experience and skills, and preferential treatment will be given according to company regulations. Includes 35 hours of fixed overtime pay per month. Overtime exceeding this will be paid separately.*
Working Hours/Holidays
Working hours 09:30 ~ 18:30, Break time 60 minutes.
Discretionary labor system may apply depending on position.
Complete two-day weekend system (Saturdays, Sundays, holidays).
Paid leave: For the first year of employment, granted proportionally based on the month of joining. Up to 22 days based on years of service.
Year-end and New Year holidays (12/30 ~ 1/3).
Sick leave (paid): 12 days/year (granted separately from paid leave).
