Job Summary
Cadence is seeking a Configuration Management Engineer II to design, develop, and automate software control and build/test methodologies. The role involves managing daily CM build/test and release engineering tasks, utilizing software tools for source code control, build acceleration, and quality metrics reporting, and collaborating with various teams. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in the software industry with a strong understanding of the software product lifecycle.
Must Have
- Design, develop, and automate software control and build/test methodologies
- Manage daily CM build/test and release engineering tasks for development releases and customer hotfixes
- Use software tools for source code control, build acceleration, and quality metrics reporting
- Work with Operations, R&D, PV, and Program Management
- BE/B Tech Comp Science or MCA
- At least 2 years’ experience in software industry
- Experience in software integration, standards, automation
- Solid understanding of software product life cycle and product development processes
- Experience with source code control systems (Perforce preferred)
- Experience with Unix/Linux/windows operating systems
- Knowledge of scripting languages, preferably Perl, Shell, Python
- Exposure to software analysis tools like Parasoft, GCOV
- Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail

- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
- Ability to establish a close working relationship with both customer peers and management
- Explore what’s possible to get the job done, including creative use of unconventional solutions
- Work effectively across functions and geographies
- Push to raise the bar while always operating with integrity
