Primary Responsibilities
- Develop relationships in the U.S. Senate and House to produce original reporting for The Daily Wire
- Produce original news for The Daily Wire based on stories assigned or approved by the Washington Editor, Editor-In-Chief, or authorized editors
- Report on stories in on-camera news media interviews or other video formats, both internal and external
Experience & Requirements
- 4 years or more of experience as a news reporter
- Smooth, compelling, and precise writing style
- Strong ability to interview people and dig for information
- Ability to work on tight deadlines
- Knowledge of the political editorial landscape and the audience of our publication
- Knowledge of Congress: how committees work, how legislation is drafted, who the key players are, etc.
- A willingness and ability to spend time on the Hill, cultivating sources with lawmakers and staffers and keeping an ear to the ground for developing stories
