The Daily Wire is seeking a Data Scientist to join our growing Analytics & Data Science team and lead predictive modeling efforts that drive the growth of our subscription business. In this cross-functional role, you’ll design and own data science solutions that enhance subscriber engagement, reduce churn, and uncover new growth opportunities. You'll collaborate closely with teams across Product, Engineering, CRM, Marketing, Design, and Finance to deliver actionable insights and scalable models that inform decisions at every stage of the subscriber journey—from acquisition through renewal. This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to directly influence strategic decisions and shape the future of how we grow and retain our audience.
Must have:
  • Design, build, and refine predictive models for subscriber engagement and retention.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and churn.
  • Develop segmentation frameworks for targeted messaging, offers, and product experiences.
  • Architect and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests.
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve data collection, integrity, and pipeline reliability.
  • Automate reporting, build dashboards, and lead performance reviews.
  • Drive audience research and cohort analyses.
  • Advocate for data-informed decision-making.
  • Stay current with industry trends in predictive modeling, experimentation, and customer analytics.
  • Expertise in SQL.
  • Strong proficiency in Python or R.
  • Experience designing and interpreting experiments.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and marketing attribution frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and drive projects to completion.

In this cross-functional role, you’ll design and own data science solutions that enhance subscriber engagement, reduce churn, and uncover new growth opportunities. You'll collaborate closely with teams across Product, Engineering, CRM, Marketing, Design, and Finance to deliver actionable insights and scalable models that inform decisions at every stage of the subscriber journey—from acquisition through renewal.

This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to directly influence strategic decisions and shape the future of how we grow and retain our audience.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and refine predictive models for subscriber engagement and retention using statistical and machine learning techniques
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses on acquisition, onboarding, engagement, and churn to uncover actionable insights and improve user outcomes
  • Develop segmentation frameworks to support targeted messaging, offers, and product experiences based on behavior, user type, and content preferences
  • Architect and evaluate A/B and multivariate tests to measure the effectiveness of interventions and user-facing changes
  • Partner with engineering teams to improve data collection, integrity, and pipeline reliability across platforms
  • Automate reporting, build dashboards, and lead weekly/monthly/quarterly performance reviews with stakeholders
  • Drive audience research and cohort analyses to inform product strategy and campaign design
  • Advocate for data-informed decision-making across the organization, influencing product, editorial, and marketing priorities
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in predictive modeling, experimentation, and customer analytics

Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or machine learning, preferably in a subscription-based or digital consumer business
  • Demonstrated experience building and deploying predictive models (especially churn, conversion, or engagement scoring)
  • Expertise in SQL and strong proficiency in Python or R
  • Experience designing and interpreting experiments (A/B and multivariate), with a clear understanding of causal inference
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and marketing attribution frameworks (e.g., UTM tracking, lifecycle campaigns)
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex data into clear business recommendations
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment and drive projects to completion
  • A passion for uncovering patterns in data and turning them into actionable strategy
