Job Description

TransUnion is seeking an Events Lead for its Marketing team in Canada. This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of all TransUnion Canada's events, from sourcing and contracting to developing concepts, onsite execution, and post-event reporting. The Events Lead will oversee planning and logistics for key events like the annual customer summit and sales kick-off, build strategic event plans, manage budgets, and work with stakeholders and vendors. This is a highly visible role involving interaction with senior management, clients, and partners, requiring strong project management, negotiation, and communication skills.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in event management or related field
  • 5-10 years' experience in B2B and internal event management
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing agencies/vendors
  • Understanding of event technical production and logistics
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player
Good to have:
  • Experience using Salesforce and Eloqua or other marketing automation platforms
  • Ability to travel up to 25-35% of the time

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event management or a related field. 
  • Five to ten years' experience in B2B and internal event management. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Strong negotiation and collaboration skills. 
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written). 
  • Proven experience leading cross functional teams and managing agencies/vendors. 
  • Understanding of event technical production and logistics.

The Canada Marketing team is based in the TransUnion Canada head office in Burlington, Ontario, operating with a hybrid working model. This role will involve on-site event management within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).  Occasional travel outside of the GTA will be required (e.g. 4-10 events per year depending on business requirements and organizational growth considerations) 

Impact You'll Make:

TransUnion Canada is looking for an Events Lead to join our dynamic and fast-paced Marketing team. The Events Lead will be responsible for the end-to-end management of all aspects of TransUnion Canada’s events, from sourcing and contracting, to developing event concepts, to onsite execution, to delivery of post-event reporting. This is a highly visible role that will require regular interaction with senior management, as well as with clients, agencies and partners. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all event planning and logistics for TU Canada’s most strategic and significant events, including the annual customer summit, customer advisory boards, annual internal sales kick-off, and quarterly internal town halls. 
  • Build and lead strategic event plans, managing end-to-end event execution, including venue sourcing, contracting, event logistics (F&B, hotels, venues, transportation, branding), event production (staging, A/V), event attendee communications, etc. 
  • Lead stakeholder meetings, manage project plans, and develop and execute event plans. 
  • Act as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders by recommending improvements to previous events, implementing industry best practices, suggesting innovative ideas and cost efficiencies. 
  • Manage cross-functional stakeholders, setting clear expectations, and driving for alignment on event strategy and delivery. 
  • Plan, forecast, and manage against defined event budgets, process all payments, and partner with finance and accounting on budget reporting and reconciliation. 
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships. 
  • Manage event technologies, such as registration, mobile apps and other event platforms or technologies.
  • Manage post-event follow-up and evaluation to assess effectiveness and ROI. 
  • Understand and adhere to TU policies and requirements (e.g. brand, procurement, etc.). 

This job is assigned as On-Site Essential and requires in- person work at an assigned TU office location as a condition of employment.
