The Senior Collections Lead is responsible for overseeing the collections process to ensure timely recovery of outstanding receivables, reducing delinquency rates, and maintaining positive customer relationships. This role provides leadership to the collections team, monitors performance metrics, implements process improvements, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to optimize cash flow and minimize credit risk. This role acts as a bridge between upper management and the collections team, driving performance, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Oversight
- Supervise and mentor a team of collectors, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Assign account portfolios and ensure workloads are managed effectively.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex or high-value accounts.
- Collections Management
- Oversee daily collection activities to ensure timely follow-up on outstanding invoices.
- Develop strategies to reduce aged receivables and improve collection rates.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with delinquent customers while maintaining customer relationships.
- Reporting & Analysis
- Monitor and report on collection KPIs (DSO, aging buckets, recovery rates, bad debt write-offs).
- Review/Analyze weekly/monthly reports for management on performance, trends, and risk exposure.
- Recommend process improvements based on data-driven insights.
- Process & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, external regulations, and legal requirements.
- Partner with billing and sales teams to resolve disputes and prevent recurring issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in collections processes and systems.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with finance, sales, billing, cash applications and operations
- Represent the collections team in cross-functional meetings and projects.
Impact You'll Make:
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- 8+ years of experience in collections or accounts receivable, with at least 3 years in a lead/supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of collections best practices
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Peoplesoft/Gatekeeper) and MS Excel. (High Radius is a ++)
- Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
